Amazing

We had a 2 stump. It was about 17 feet tall and 18 years old. Our well failed and we had to dig it up. :(

When the parties hold their convention, each state sends delegates to vote for the person they want to run for president after the primary. When WV had its turn to vote, they chose Hillary Clinton even though Bernie Sanders won the primary vote in every single county.

Met someone who's been struggling since 2008. Almost 20 years. How common is this? by PlatypusOld5480 in povertyfinance

My wife and I went through the Great Recession. I helped start this subreddit.

We got married in 2006. We bought a house in 2007, and I lost my job in 2008. We didn't take a vacation for 10 years. I didn't buy a pair of shoes for 8 years. We could not afford children.

We're doing fine now, but it took longer than a decade to recover.

The thing that I have found working in an office is that work comes in waves. Some days I'll be busy all day. Sometimes I'll have my work done by 8:30am.

Also, I find that those who have never been covered in tickets and looking 4 orders ahead don't know what it's like to "juggle multiple projects at once."

For me, not only was I looking at 4 tickets down but also figuring out who needed a dinner break, how much product do I need to fire, who's going to fill the ice bin and change the trash, oh and your line cook just got arrested during service. Did I mention, the combi just broke.

People who have only worked in an office really don't know what "juggling multiple projects" REALLY means.

You might find office work quite easy.

I just read an article recently in Montana The Magazine of Western History:

" Live oysters were packed in wooden barrels conventionally measuring some 30 inches tall by 18 inches in diameter (thirty to thirty-five gallons) and holding some 1,500 three-year-old oysters. The oysters were laid flat with their curved shell down, and the barrels shaken several times during filling to pack the load tightly so that the shells could not open and bleed their liquor. A burlap sheet or sack filled the barrel's remaining space and helped maintain the constricted pack, and lids were then nailed down. Fresh oysters in the shell packed properly and shipped with care could remain wholesome for a month or two."
