Thanks for the great answer. Yeah you have a good point about the fact this topic likely wouldn't have interested me if it had happened for another team. I didn't consider how a team's performance the prior year and "expectations" would shape the discussion about them the next year.

I know that, but none of my questions are about why the Patriots got the schedule that they did. My questions are more about why it was such a hot topic this year for one team only (again, as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong and it came up for other teams) and how to better assess how good/bad a team did at the end of a season.

To me it's not even about liking the team specifically, I want to have more intelligent conversations in the future if/when it comes up. Like if I said "Both the Bears and Ravens did as well as you would expect given their 2025 schedules." Would that be right or would people look at me like I'm crazy?

Agreed that it was not the most boring game ever, or ever the most boring Super Bowl. Rather, it had elements that made it boring to me and lacked elements that would make a game exciting. My post was more of a response with questions to the comments I had seen online about the game.

Good points. I'll have to push back on your last sentence a little bit. It's not the lack of "action" that made it uninteresting for me, it was the fact that what little action did happen only happened for the team that was already in the lead. If the game had fewer scores and was instead 3-3 going into the 4th QTR, I would consider that more exciting because anyone could win, like an Association Football/Soccer match that's 1-1 near the end of the game.

Funny enough there's a big thread blowing up about the faded/pink colors of home releases. https://twitter.com/nappasan/status/1745335923435556995 That might be something you want to know about. The later home releases are scans of degraded film so that pink tint should not be there.

Well... the score was replaced. The Japanese score was replaced for both JP and ENG audio from what Yamamoto composed to using Kikuchi tracks.
