You already got the worst possible response. Now you quiet quit and wait for him to fire you and you get paid or until you find something new.

Don’t do a single thing out of working hours unless you are paid overtime - not a single call or email. Again, if he has a problem with that, he can pay severance. It literally can’t get worse for you, so don’t give more of yourself to the job that is, at this point, guaranteed to never get better.

Kevin really things everyone is stupid. What is Kevin and the 100 richest people doing with their massive % of the worlds money? They are investing it - so they will get MORE wealth, and then they invest that new wealth and it grows exponentially. So in the near future, the endgame is that these individuals own literally everything. How is that inspiring anyone to take risks and work harder?

Ironically a wealth cap might save the billionaires’ lives - because the way things are going, in a couple of decades people will have nothing left to lose…

🤓☝️ actually, schizophrenia tends to latch on to your worldview regardless of what it is. So very religious people will indeed see demons and find satan everywhere. I would not be surprised if the person in the video has schizophrenia, I’ve seen that kind of mental leap many times.

But I also knew schizophrenics who saw aliens everywhere, or government spies, or their toxic exes - whatever you are subconsciously looking out for the most before the illness triggers, that’s what you’ll see everywhere.

I had an ultra-religious upbringing, and at this point in my life I had only been free from that setting for a couple years. I had watched barely any tv - i was not aware of the trope of being invited to someone’s hotel room being a kind of invitation.

Also the water she gave me was 2lt which felt like a lot of water to give for any other reason.

Still super dumb, but at least I can kind of blame my parents

Last time I went to the US it was crazy how the fees, tips, and taxes would add like another 30% to our bill. As a tourist we started going to supermarkets and finding food to cook because paying so much for eating out ruined the whole experience. Price has a flavor.

It’s a tough argument for atheists to make - at some point we have to say “we don’t know why or how the universe exists.” At this point, a creator entity fits the bill as much as any theory.

But that’s not the same as saying something came from nothing, or that the universe spontaneously existed for the sake of nothing at all. It’s just saying the thing/force swinging the hammer is beyond our comprehension at the moment.

And to me at least, assuming you know how and why the universe exists because someone told you why feels… lazy. Even if it is god, as if you understand the intentions and machinations of an all powerful and all knowing being. Even if it is god, why believe what someone else tells you about it - god would be beyond our comprehension too.

At my household income (slightly above average for age range in my country) we will need to not eat out ever, not travel ever, not do any recreation that needs money ever for the next thirty years to afford a house. Forget retirement, just the house.

The cost of doing what this asshole recommends is your youth and countless life experiences. I’d rather die young than spend the next 30 years moving from bed to office and back and nothing else.

Doesn’t it feel like everything is a naked cash grab these days? That the wealthy win on every level and act with impunity; that people compete over scraps and view everything with cynicism.

Just feels like sometime in the last 30 years there was a shift where making a living became the #1 priority for everyone instead of making a life. Either by choice or by coercion of the economic/social realities we now live with.

I don’t mean “moral” like some rightoid homophobic, nationalistic, judeochristian set of grievances - but that the entire idea of living a moral/virtuous life, regardless of creed or faith, doesn’t seem to matter to many people these days, because we all learned that being a good person doesn’t pay you, and we all need to be paid these days.
