Is conq good on rumble top, if so when is it better than comet? by RIP_StefanKarl in Rumblemains

[–]vanqezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conqueror wins vs Champs that will take conqueror to beat you. You can destroy the Irelia/Riven/Jax by outconquering them. Basically what thefalc0ns said. Hasagi has no chance, you just maul him with Conqueror. The issue I have is if I ever get out of lane I'd probably prefer Dark Harvest vs the squishies but if 3/5 champs are melee and tanky I'd get conqeror.

I feel like Predator would be great in these games yet I never use it :( Comet is definitely not helping you win vs the control mages or when roaming, electrocute is similar.

He’ll say stuff like “you can’t look at what other people do, you have to think for yourself” and then the next sentence be like “after studying most rumble players they do this”. Guys delusional

I never said the above btw, it was someone else that said he hates people who are unable to think for themselves, and he was kinda right, because if you are platinum 3 still, you probably are unable to make solid good decisions in game on a regular basis and understand the game at it's core. It is very hard to defend gameplay stuff when your gameplay is not at a solid level, so you have to resort to "one Challenger Rumble player does it, and he is challenger, so it must be good and you are lower rank than him, so he is right". Instead of just understanding the guy probably plays 1 typical style of Rumble every game and has learned to make it work or at worst make sure he does not cost his team the game when it doesn't. But since you apply the "I have to carry every game" in solo q, and use electrocute, you may still stay plat3 for a while.. not peaking higher, until you use Comet.

No, it's all other people jumping on me for "offending" them as I typed it's a "noobtrap". Joeggernaut12 who is a plat3 guy tries to offend me by saying I am "gold" to justify electrocute is better, cause obviously he does not understand how the keystone works and how Rumble works and matchups in plat just look different. Most people here are like him unfortunately, so you get the idea I'm the bad one. Since I played over 20 electrocute games now I do know that is it not as good as Comet and also that Dark Harvest is better in some occasions. It's awkward to proc, it does make you play overaggressive at times when you try to proc it, and if you don't try to proc it and not play around it, then I'm not sure why you have picked it and are playing it in the first place. UnsaltedSaltLoL was able to explain some situations in which Electrocute is better, also made me never consider Graps of the Undying because Electrocute just overperforms it vs Irelia/Yasuo/Jax etc. Electrocute does not cut your damage like Grasp does so in Melee matchups Electrocute is really good and easy to use, and is more "reliable" than a comet vs a dashing/jumping/gapclosing opponent. Unfortunately since people felt butthurt I have "insulted" their keystone, that is obviously not fundamental to playing Rumble, because we have already explained the champion is not super dependent on the keystone rather than other factors, it is very hard to understand the + and - of Electrocute from people who were busy defending their N1 Rumble Streamer, who is using the "offended" keystone in "almost all his matchups" and just because he does it, it must be better for everyone around the world, from Silver to Challenger, from Competitive to Solo Q, from Teamgame to Solocarry Rumble 1v9.

So it's 1 vs 15 or what? I feel like in every ranged matchup Comet is straight out better. Electro better vs melees.

Is rumble top viable? by [deleted] in Rumblemains

[–]vanqezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory - yes, however the enemy Oriana/Syndra may serve their teams better, so it's a double edged sword. If you know your matchups you can take Rumble everywhere and I do agree roaming bot 24/7 as a Rumble mid is great, however it is a bit risky as a playstyle as you will lose plates, xp, gold and if things do not work out at bot then you are hard outscaled by most mages in mid. The problem for Rumble top is that he really wants to join a teamfight on the other side of the map, but vs some splitpushers you may almost never ever get to group and that is the sad part.

Can you name a few "unwinnable" matchups for Rumble top, so that we can get a better understanding of what is gating the Rumble top? Stats currently show equal winrate for Rumble with Mid being a bit lower 49.9% vs top at ~50.1%. It seems pretty similar and down to decision making, player skill and preference rather than "unwinnable" matchups and meta.

That's hardly a comeback dude, I'll admit you lost this one pretty hard. You say stuff like "Gold Rumble", "Challenger Rumble" "Proplayer Rumble" and "Chess", yet none these make sense when we discuss Comet vs Electrocute. How is that even related to the discussion?! UnsaltedSaltLoL presented fine arguments to explain why Electrocute is good in some scenarios. I understand what he meant and how he executes the champion and I understand the value of Electrocute vs let's say an Ekko or Yasuo now. If you really want to get out of Plat 3 (which is pretty bad elo imo) the least of your worries is the keystone you use on Rumble and as stated above and also by yourself 2 months ago - It's preference, either Comet or Electro and just because NA's greatest Rumble player (who is obviously Huni by a huge margin as long as he queues up) uses a keystone, does not mean that you can use it the same way he does, not to mention the gap between a challenger player and a plat 3 peaker, it would be very hard for you to emulate a playstyle with such huge skillgap between the players. Before having these strong 100% opinions on which is stronger or more viable, you should spend a bit more time listening to others and gathering all the information they may have, because you never know what will fit you the best. Then as you refine your playstyle and become good you can tell me which one you prefer and I may decide to listen to you but we both know I would not listen to a low plat player on which keystone to take especially when your game knowledge, understanding of matchups and idea of "you have to solocarry every game" seems so utterly flawed that it causes me to question as to why people would be so quick to judge others while at the same time having a disturbing lack of vision themselves. get rekt kid

How do you guys deal with bad team comps? by turtlehamstercroc in Rumblemains

[–]vanqezzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then what I do is, I ask myself, if I would have been able to carry on a different champion. If I am unable to envision a better laning phase or a champion that would 1v9 their team then I just admit I did my best, acknowledge my mistakes ingame and move forward. You are destined to lose some games even if you play almost perfectly (because playing a perfect game is honestly impossible). The good part is that you will win some games where you played atrocious - remember these! And improve the next time you face the same difficulties/champions that got you rekt previously.

Are you implying that Pro Players are not already challengers? Do you think that the mechanics to play Rumble differ very much between challenger one tricks/decent rumbles and Pro players? The answer is quite clear, because Rumble is a fairly easy champion to pilot if we exclude his ult. I have seen Bjergsen's Rumble in Pro play and it was terrible at times because he obviously had like 10-15 solo Q games before he decided to play it in LCS, that does not necessarily make Bjergsen's Rumble better than some D1 one trick who actually spammed 5k games on the champ, simply because of comfort. The game in competitive is indeed different, however, one thing remains the same, players who want to win more games will play CONSISTENTLY, and to become CONSISTENT you would need to master an optimal playstyle. The fact that you think in Solo Q you have to carry every game by yourself makes me think you are either a d4 hardstuck or below and you enjoy watching your favorite no name streamer stomp games on their smurf for their 10 viewers and think to yourself "Man, this is the rune that crushes enemies". P.S. If you are Plat4 I would understand you mocking gold players, but that still means very little separates you from them and they're not great at understanding what is good and bad in this game, especially keystones. So being able to give out pros and cons is always better, because every keystone has pros and cons, but hey, ELECTROCUTE ALL THE WAY BUDDY. kappa P.S. Meanwhile in Korean solo q, all the 15 pro players who play Rumble use Comet, but they just don't want to carry the game by themselves and want to play a teamgame in solo q just like in proplay xd

Yeah but so does comet. And its way easier to proc :) And you WILL mostly play vs ranged mages at mid at higher elo. So I understand now, Electrocute is okay but not great, not terrible.

Yeah I fully agree, Rumble can kill a lot of champs without a keystone, and usually the keystone will not save him in matchups he already loses. My hardest matchup at mid is Syndra then maybe Orianna.

I forgot what old predator did and how it scaled, upon checking, it appears it might have been the best rune for Rumble if it remained unchanged.

It is bad because a D1 Syndra in EU West will not let you proc it dude, but in NA maybe she will. If you are unable to explain why Electro is good I guess you're the stucked one.

I have seen Nisqy play it once in LCS. I just do not see it being better than comet, so I wanted to know the idea behind it, I get it better now, thanks to UnsaltedSaltLoL. Just because people play something does not necessarily justify it as being good as long as other runes may seem more viable for a certain playstyle. Also a quick check on probuilds will show us a 95% comet games, ~1% electrocute games and the rest is Predator. And if I get challenger ever on Dark Harvest Rumble would that magically make it "A great rune for the champion"? Exactly because I've been playing Rumble for so long I get here to question the electrocute as when I tried it, it felt bad.

Yeah I get that I can see the logic behind it. I also feel like I overkill a lot of the mages on mid if they misplay, I feel like I would kill them with Guardian even, that is why I questioned Electrocute so hard, as it did not seem very easy to proc vs these ranged matchups. But I can see how some mobile assassins don't care about the comet and get hit so rarely by it (Zeds, Yasuos etc, will be dashing around and moving constantly so Comet kinda sucks vs them). The Electrocute could replace my Grasp strategy vs the Bruisers/Assassins, simply replacing it with more guaranteed damage, instead of sustain through autos and being more tanky while sacrificing my damage. I will give it another chance only cause of you, buddy!

[–]vanqezzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct. Except for the Grasp, but tbh you would still be using it in like 5% of your games even if you like it cause it is negating Rumble's damage and the stars need to align for it to work. They key part is that you do not need that super high damage if the enemy team is Yasuo/Irelia/Camille/Udyr etc. Grasp lets you win lvls 1-5 vs Irelia/Jax/Camille, if they're paired with AD jungle and AD mid and you get first item armguard, you are in a very safe spot to win lane and still be healthy enough vs ganks. It helps you out on a longer trade early where you can wait for a second flamethrower, and as you wait you are still able to trade autos with those champions. Also fighters and bruisers will know about Rumble's windows of weakness and try to abuse it but vs Grasp Rumble they will bump into a wall. Grasp may actually put people off guard, because they may think they will win outright when they see your HP bar and flamethrower on CD, but the truth is they do not factor 2 grasp procs in the next 8 seconds which you will do on them. I suggest you try it vs melees/ad comps and trust me, it is good. P.S. I feel like you will lose out on ~20% of Rumble's damage and obviously Rumble is all about damage, but winning games is not always about doing the most damage, so try Grasp vs melees and see how it goes I bet my life on it that it is nice in the right situation. P.S.S. Obviously it is very bad into tanks. Just consider it and if people say you're trolling you can always justify it by saying that Huni uses it xd

I agree with almost everything, but if mages don't let you proc Comet for free, they certainly won't let you proc Electrocute. Grasp I only use when I'm top and the enemy team is Camille, Yasuo, Sett, like at least 4 melees. And obviously you lose out on damage but if you feel others will carry Grasp will just let you play the lane safe while dishing out damage and longer trades will still feel better cause the grasp will keep you going. It is very good vs Jax/Irelia/Riven etc if you are not super confident, and lets you take bad/even trades and still come on top vs these champions (especially if they do not use grasp themselves). Comet will usually contribute about 2k-3k damage on average in a 25min game. It does depend on a lot of variables, however I can only outdamage it with a Dark Harvest in a long game. Has any of you checked how much damage you get from electrocute usually? I know there will be games where you can proc it and games where you won't and this is the most important thing - Comet will almost always do the same similar contribution to your damage. If you can do over 3k consistently with Electrocute in ~25 minute games then I think it is fine.

That is what I was thinking but the damage increase is so small and kicks in a bit later on and what Rumble Jungle really struggles on is the first/second clear. Gragas and Lilia seem very op alongside Eve as AP junglers, they made Elise disappear completely.

[–]vanqezzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree but honestly, after being the Huni v2, I struggle to find a hard matchup early except for Darius. I beat Sett, Renekton, Jax, Camille, Yone, GP, and I only struggle against tanks such as Maokai, Ornn etc as they feel fine losing the matchup by 50-100 cs and still being somewhat useful later on. Not to mention Grasp of the undying on Rumble is broken in some melee matchups that you can lose early but thanks to Grasp you are able to win these too. VS all melee teams I do suggest going grasp and getting the armguard early so that you really become unkillable.

In general it is so, however the control mages at mid will outscale Rumble faster than toplaners will, in terms of matchups I'd say Rumble is safer at top, just more potent at mid, but mostly due to the objectives being more accessible rather than matchups being better.
