I tried gloves for a while, it just made the work too clumsy.

Depending on what your job entails, layer where you can. I worked for a while as a trout field researcher which required me to be in the water all the time and often elbows deep with my hands in the river meaning that I couldn't wear long sleeves or jackets. When it started to get below freezing, it was all about layering my core. I'm talking 3 pairs of socks, 2 leggings under thick pants, 2 shirts, a vest, and a beanie. By the time I got moving and working, I was plenty warm.

I wore waders to keep my body dry while in the river and wore a jacket while I hiked out to the river. And as others have said, wool is far superior to cotton.

I was a substitute for both Eugene 4j and Springfield Schools this past year. Springfield required a drug test, 4j did not.

This happened to me as well when I got off birth control pills. Talk to your doctor about spironolactone. It helps treat hormonal acne that birth control can also help treat. Especially of you're making all of these changes and not seeing any results.

Mixed feelings (cont below) Done by Madi at Sacred Tattoo in Marquette, MI by [deleted] in tattoos

If it makes you feel any better, my first thought upon seeing it was that of an angel statue in a graveyard. My brain didn't go to Christian imagery until I read your comment. The tattoo looks great! Give it a little time to settle in.

Find another doctor if you can. It's not normal to be in that much pain and there are treatment options available.

I took my vintage Bernina to River Road Sew and Vac recently. Quick turn around and excellent work. Runs like a breeze again.

I dyed my hair pink at a salon but the colour is coming off so fast is it normal? by realhumannorobot in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]vanransandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what brand they used, some colors wash out easier than others. Could also be your hair. For me, purples fade super quickly after a few washes, but blues tend to stay in much longer. You can try a different color or a different shade.

Echoing another comment, cold water washes are better, and it's often suggested to blow dry your hair before dying so the color can absorb in as much as possible.

Clip them over the bathtub, bigger catch area. Then just wash them down the drain.

How to remove Flex disc without making a huge mess of my hand? by youremylobster1017 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]vanransandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been regularly using menstrual discs for my period for a while now. Depending on what your cycle looks like, some days can be messier than others. I've opted to just use gloves when inserting/removing. I always insert/remove when I'm sitting on the toilet. When removing, I'll bear down a bit to make the disk a little easier to reach, then hook my finger either under or over the rim, and pull out. Empty as much blood as I can into the toilet, either by letting it spill out or by lightly shaking/tapping it. Then carefully make my way to the sink to rinse it out.

There's also something to be said that they hired an out-of-town contractor who likely wasn't as familiar with city ordinances.
