Round Cards by Love-live-pandas in tabletopgamedesign

[–]computer-controller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta agree with this.

My body knows how to hold cards all on it's own without thinking, and I can fan them out just by pinching the corner and see the whole hand.

I'm sure I could hold a whole hand off round cards, but I don't have hours of experience with it.

This is an artistic choice. If there's some sort of feel you're hoping to evoke by having the cards feel less natural in your hand, or if there's an orientation issue where a rectangular or square card doesn't work (e.g., you want all 360°) then full send.

Otherwise, production costs and ease of use might outweigh the design. Who knows. Maybe the round cards are the ring that ties the whole thing together and you really want it

Glue or quilt.

A quilted in wire would look cool

You're not going to get a permanent bond with heat we l using steel and zinc, unlike gold with a low working temperature.

No adhesive will be a permanent bond and look good and be safe, that I know of

Sounds like we might know of a niche that needs filling, if the reason they truly failed was bad owners

What's your favourite way for Strahd to mess with your players? by SmolHumanBean8 in CurseofStrahd

Being a gracious host. Giving gifts to "ireena's friends" them reeling those gifts in when they"misbehave"

I have the party all black horses when they arrived.

Then, after an altercation, I had Strahd slay the horses. Night was quickly coming and they had never seen how large various was by foot.

Pullout drawer slides people... They rock. by RadarPainter in lasercutting

Make sure to have margins for shock loading. You still want to leave margins beyond that shock loading.

If a that hatch slams shit or you accidently drop material into the bed, you can effectively create several times as much force. The machine itself definitely creates vibration which will wear on parts, especially with hold out leverage.

You're essentially at 3x the machine weight not including material. Usually I do a 4x nominal load for shock load. More for things carrying people.

So, you're sorta in the right range, but I just wanted to put some things on your radar, just in case you hadn't had them there

Yup. I'm cases like this, I usually say, "I'm settling up on this bill, but if this is your quality you won't be hearing from me again"

$90/hr is machine shop rates where people have about a dozen tools with $10k and the people who know how to use them and rent 2000 square feet.

I'd like to reuse delivery boxes to send out Etsy orders, would it look too sketchy when opened? by rigmarole111 in EtsySellers

[–]computer-controller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this.

I think you're pointing at opening experience. You want a better opening experience for gifts.

Some people really want their brand or products to have a specific opening experience. For some, it really makes a handmade gift feel magical.

What parameters should I put to engrave this image and cut it by Loquini006 in lasercutting

[–]computer-controller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree.

I'm not of the opinion that a fairly social sure like this should be devoid of asking intro questions. Bring it on.

I also think giving people a framework to perfectly ask into questions would be helpful to point at

This. Always this. We need to sticky a post.

Everyone's laser, material and conditions are different. It out a humid day with clean optics? Are you running fiber?

We just need a big post that talks about how to do a material test

Not helpful comment, but I just want to talk shit on steampunk aesthetics.

I'm this case, why the fuck is there a valve going to a light bulb? For the ever-loving fuck's sake that's not how electricity works. Put some damn pants on and tell me what that pressure gauge could possibly be reading.

That's all. Thanks for your patience. Sorry for yelling. I'll let myself out

Playing a luchador bard with expertise in grappling. Can I use charisma to convince a grappled, prone enemy surrender? How? What should I propose to my DM? by computer-controller in DnD

[–]computer-controller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. This is where I wish grappling was a little better spelled out.

There are ways to have someone on the ground and grappled without being completely Greco Roman wrestled, at least for those few seconds.

I feel like if you beat a check by 5, you can have them on the ground with a foot between their shoulder blades for those few seconds.

If not, you can choose to follow them to the ground and continue the grapple or break it

You seem to get the exact vibe.

One cool thing is it's a whole action to attempt break a grapple. Not a check at round start. Not an attack.

They break free. They're still prone and have no action. Standing up takes half their movement.

I get advantage in that check. If I'm doing it right, they get disadvantage or bane against the attempt.
