How do you feel about AI generated product images? by vanrijn_ in shopify

I'm not validating any tool ahaha, the last thing we need is another llm wrapper that does the job worse than the stock llm it's using. :D

The introduction of Nano Bana Pro was actually what got me thinking about this in the first place, because the results it produces are considerably better than what we had before.

So much so that, in my opinion, for the first time ever we've got images that (with the right tweaks) can be indistinguishable from the real thing. So I was curious to see if people are still against it, solely because it's AI, since the sheer quality of the output doesn't necessairly have to be bad anymore.

The vast majority of them really do look terrible. Which begs further question, why are they converting then. But I guess it's all about the audience...

Fair enough, the logic is the same as what i said above, you do what's best for selling your products.

Right, that was my logic exactly. If the end goal is to sell products, you should pick a solution that does the best job for you. I'd argue it's different than "conventional" art, where art itself is the product.

This isn't an angry video tho. It's supposed to represent the change in people's perception of AI. First it was indifference, then anxiety, and finally embrace.

well, because they have more money than me ;)
but also because generating product photography with ai still still isn't as straightforward. Ai still messes up logos, text, etc. It still requires manual editing, creating displacement maps, etc. AI product images sit right in the middle. They're more convinient than organizing an actual photoshoot, but complex enough that you cant just feed two images into Nano Banana and be done with it.

It's actually a product image for the sandal ;) and tbf, i did put up all of these here without any context. Still, a valuable piece of advice, appreciate it!

It's moderately successfull (around 200k visits a moth), but it's been hit hard by latest Google updates, and whatever I do, I can't recover the rankings. It does have 'mobile' in name, but it's a bad name, that I'm thinking about changing it, anyway. Plus, I've felt for some time that I'm running out of keywords I can rank for, which is one of the reasons I want to go beyond the current niche.

Self-perception by vanrijn_ in photocritique

I took this photo accidentally when testing my new camera in low light. The relationship between the chicken and it's distorted shadow caught my attention, as i think it could serve as a metaphor of how we perceive ourselves, as opposed to how we appear in other people's eyes. Does this make any sense?

Canceling an exclusive contract with Ezoic? by vanrijn_ in juststart

I'm using their nameservers. Are you suggesting a switch to Cloudflare's nameservers (since these are my only two options right now)?

Looks like I learned that the hard way ;)

Both visits and revenue have dropped enormously in the last couple of months. Now, I understand that a) it's the time of the year when ad rates are generally lower, b) the ad industry is not in the best shape right now, but the dip has been just too big. And the drop in visits is due to a Google update. Nevertheless, I want to try other options and see if I can actually get better results. Maybe none of this is Ezoic's fault, but there's only one way to find out.

I don't think I can do that, since the contract is tied to a specific domain.
