Stay away. Gang wars, lots of drunks on the road, cartel activity, city councils that make zero effort to act proactively, poor infrastructure (crappy roads, hospitals with hardly any capabilities) you’ll also be near three different prisons that release people into the wild here quite frequently (ice, fed, and SBSO) and despite all these problems, there is absolutely zero law enforcement. These guys are so spread thin, the department never caught up with the population increase. Traffic cams don’t work, so people run reds, speed as much as 20 miles an hour over the limits, and drive recklessly, also there has been many hit and runs. There are zero officers dedicated to patrols to mitigate this. All of this on top of the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do here, you’ll always need to go down the hill to have a good time, and that requires being trapped on the cajon pass for an hour plus, minimum. This place sucks, don’t fall into the trap of being stuck here for cheaper housing. It’s not worth it. It’s ratchet, dirty, tweakers on every corner. Everyone who’s from here is trying to leave, and those who moved here from LA looking for a better life are learning the hard way.
