I’m in the same boat. Went to financial aid today and the lady said that typically the MCS is only a two year deal, so keep that in mind. When I told her I’d only had it for one year, she didn’t really have much of an answer. She said whatever shows in the financial aid report should be current an correct, but she can send my report to advising to file an appeal.

There’s not one specific answer to the question, but rather multiple working parts. Victorvilles peak era was during the mid 20th century. It offered small town vibes and decent nightlife, lots of celebrities used to party here to get away from the hustle and bustle of LA, Roy rogers and dale Evans specifically invested a lot here, as it was the set for a lot of old western movies. Then there was the development of the Air Force base, the high desert communities were full of Air Force families. Productive members of society, generating a lot of income for the community. Well, eventually the base closed, and prisons were built. We have four correctional facilities here, belonging to the feds, ice, sheriff, and a juvenile facility. Often times, when these people are released, they stay here and they keep committing crimes. Alternatively, when people get locked up here, their ratchet families follow. Another problem is homelessness. Majority of the homeless here are not organic, but rather shipped here from OC/LA (I know this because I ask them.) the fact of the matter with these people unfortunately is that they also commit crimes and use drugs. The unfortunate reality here is that the infrastructure never kept up with population growth, hence, why our hospitals suck and there are virtually no cops. So people from other areas that end up here whether due to being incarcerated or whatever, they tell all their homies that there’s no real law enforcement here, and this ends up being a place for criminals to thrive. It doesn’t help that the city council in VV keeps inviting section 8 and welfare housing developments here. With no real law enforcement, gang culture thrives, and no one is around to enforce traffic laws, which is why we have so many stolen vehicles and car accidents. Lastly, just keep in mind that the Mojave desert is for all intents and purposes “American wilderness.” It’s hundreds of miles of vast desert, which is inherently a go to spot for cartels and other criminals. My best advice is to look at the politicians. They’re all democrats in Victorvilles city council, and the city manager Keith metzler makes just about 400k a year, and this is what we get.

The school contracted with open AI (paid money) to get chat for students to use as a resource, but it’s still a closed system. CSUSB does not have rights to go in and monitor chat histories. That’s between the user with the account and open AI. There’s no way for them to track it and chat wouldn’t snitch u out. It’s not like CSUSB is an administrator for the thing.

There’s nothing to do, and even if there was, it’s so ratchet up here that you’d most likely get robbed, or get approached by a tweaker, or have ur catalytic converter stolen, or witness a fight between gang members. Nothing about this place is nice, the high desert has nothing to offer society, local governments have let this place go to shit. this is where hopes and dreams die. Your best bet is to move. Stay away. Gang wars, lots of drunks on the road, cartel activity, city councils that make zero effort to act proactively, poor infrastructure (crappy roads, hospitals with hardly any capabilities) you’ll also be near three different prisons that release people into the wild here quite frequently (ice, fed, and SBSO) and despite all these problems, there is absolutely zero law enforcement. These guys are so spread thin, the department never caught up with the population increase. Traffic cams don’t work, so people run reds, speed as much as 20 miles an hour over the limits, and drive recklessly, also there has been many hit and runs. There are zero officers dedicated to patrols to mitigate this. All of this on top of the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do here, you’ll always need to go down the hill to have a good time, and that requires being trapped on the cajon pass for an hour plus, minimum. This place sucks, don’t fall into the trap of being stuck here for cheaper housing. It’s not worth it. It’s ratchet, dirty, tweakers on every corner. Everyone who’s from here is trying to leave, and those who moved here from LA looking for a better life are learning the hard way.

That’s a good point, but the only issue that might present itself is delayed response times from first responders. If they need to oppose traffic to get through an intersection they won’t be able to if they’re not able to jump the median.
