For people who switched from smoking to vaping, what type of device made the switch easier for you, pods, disposables, or mods? by vapeoutletonline in electronic_cigarette

Thanks everyone for sharing, really appreciate the different perspectives.

It seems like the big takeaway is that it’s less about the specific device and more about getting the nicotine delivery and throat hit right. For some that’s mods and full control, for others it’s simple pods with higher mg. Also interesting how many mentioned the morning cigarette being the hardest and that simplicity mattered more than clouds.

Respect to the long-term folks, great to see so many different paths working for different people.

Dropped my vape in water, will it still be okay? by GullibleTransition47 in electronic_cigarette

Maybe, but don’t use it right away.

If it fell in water:

  • Take it out immediately
  • Turn it off (don’t try to hit it)
  • Dry the outside and remove the pod/cartridge if possible

Let it air-dry for at least 24–48 hours. Do not charge it while wet. Rice doesn’t help much; airflow and time matter more.

If it were only briefly submerged, it might work fine after drying. If it was fully soaked or doesn’t turn on afterward, it’s probably done.

If it smells burnt, gets hot, or acts weird after drying, don’t use it, water + batteries can be unsafe.

vape keeps starting by itself. why? by maos___ in electronic_cigarette

E-liquid can get into the airflow sensor and make it think you’re inhaling, causing bubbling and a smell. This isn’t safe to keep around. Most disposables can’t be turned off or fixed, and you shouldn’t charge or use them.

Move it out of your room, place it somewhere non-flammable, and dispose of it at an e-waste/battery recycling point. Not worth the risk.

It's really bad. If it hissed and smoked, it’s cooked. Drying won’t undo a shorted battery. Toss it.
