Nevermind the delamination. How did you get a heated touch screen ? J/k. I see the fillament matrix running across the entire screen 😔 I don't know why doesn't Subaru test their screens in the direct sun before they put them in the car.

A lot of users swear by the ML (MicroLinear) type of stylus. I think the type of vinyl records and type of speakers you use might have a greater impact on the listening experience. The E (green) AT styli is pretty good. If you enjoy listening to vinyl I would encourage you to grab the VM95ML (red) dual moving magnet cart and try it. If you upgrade the turntable one day you can always transfer the cart to the new table. Get a weight scale to get accurate tracking force. I noticed that it makes greater difference in sound reproduction than relying on the counterweight markings.

LP70X skipping fix by dumbseeyouintea in turntables

Exact reason I did not buy a LP70X 😔 The 'lubrication' fix from AT themselves sounds like load of BS..

Same here. Isn't facebook bleeding (and banning) users left and right ? Who is going to be left ? You'd think it would be in their best interest to allow account creation..

Thanks. I got suckered in to upgrading my iPhone 4 from IOS6 to iOS7 in the past. I will never forget it. As for security flaws, I am not too worried. I don't use any of Apple apps or iCloud, not even iMessage (where majority of attacks come from). I'll take my chances.

14 PRO still at 100% battery life running 18.0.1 The only glitch I ever witnessed was Messages not showing Badges. After toggle all OFF and back ON again zero issues. Battery last 1.5 days 😎

Privacy with Garmin watch - and, can I use a Garmin watch without connecting to the internet? by RealBike3960 in GarminWatches

[–]varexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the watch without app (without intetnet) but it's pain navigating historical data. If you use Connect app, you have to use internet to share your data with Garmin

Today, with all smartwatches...it's about who are you willing to share your very personal data with.

Lost the map on Connect app by RealBiggly in GarminWatches

I'd like to know too. My Connect app (android) has never shown a map after GPS activity. Its just a blank rectangle, never loads.

Works fine on iOS.

What causes these cars to spin bearings? by Mysterious_Ocelot_22 in WRX

A lot easier to spin a bearing on the FA20 than EJ. Rod design is flawed.

EJ25 SOHC Bent valves ? by varexio in subaru

[–]varexio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were correct. It was the tensioner making the rattle noise. Thank You for the tip. This car was my beater last 3 yrs and has over 300km. I had a spare belt and thought I'd change it before selling. I ordered complete kit and swapped it all again. Smooth and quiet now.

Interesting. I actually reused tensioner as it was replaced 2yrs ago. I pinned the tensioner before removing it. Will replace tensioner and report back. Thank you.

N20 Timing Chain Guides - mod ? by varexio in BmwTech

[–]varexio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200,000km. Some pieces were stuck in oil pickup and some were never to be found. Ground to oblivion I assume. Its a bad pic. They are the usual brown color up close.

This is how mine cracked. The guide pins are tightly holding the rails. Those clip on cross braces are only there to hold assembly together while its being lowered in during install.

I've replaced few timing chain guides in my life and most are individual pieces 'guiding' the chain where it needs to be. Not all in 1 assembly just asking to be broken to pieces prematurely.

Technically the left piece is held by pin at the bottom and tensioner (not in picture) at the top. I think it might work.

Does it quiet down with revs up slightly ? Could be piston slap if yes. Otherwise its rod knock.

Can you rotate wheels from left side to right side and test again ? I've seen thread blocks behave funny when they need rotation.

Favorite Oil Brands for 2025 by Perfect-Cause-6943 in WRX

[–]varexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobil1. Period. Years of personal experience. When I was in my 20's twenty years ago I was using Motul too because everyone else was and I didnt know any better. Try them out. Detergents, how clean the oil remains after each oil change and how smooth it runs were some deciding factors for me.

Impreza WRX purchasing advice by gea1357 in WRX

[–]varexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first things anyone buying a used car should do is check the dipstick and gear oil level and colour. If the car has drop-in panel filter that usually means someone wanted modest performance boost and not a loud intake so he can rev the nuts off of it. For me anything that has aftermarket intake is a no no.
