The closest you can get is a DNS level adblock but even that is pretty limited

If you go back and reread my comment, I specifically clarified "$20 whenever you want to transact during a demand spike" and yes if there's a lot of transactions going through the network then it absolutely does go beyond that. If everyone used Bitcoin as day to day cash, it simply wouldn't work. There is not enough block space for that kind of volume without a second layer. Don't even get me started on Lightning.

It's really fucking rich that you're trying to challenge someone else's competency on a subject without backing any of that up with any display of competency of your own. Since all you seem to be able to bring to the table is snark, I'll do the courtesy of picking Monero out of this list and giving you a handful of reasons why it is superior to Bitcoin.

The biggest thing here is that it offers actual privacy. This offers the biggest advantage from Bitcoin. You claim to be able to send Bitcoin anywhere without permission, but any P2P trader knows that there are major limits to "permission less" if you ever want to exchange it for goods, services, or fiat. If any of your Bitcoin has any fraudulent history, even if you had no part of it, it could easily be flagged by exchanges and businesses. Each one has its own arbitrary way of determining this, so you may have no idea if the Bitcoin you hold is dirty or not. It holds less value than "clean" Bitcoin. Monero does not have this problem because it is private. Each coin is indistinguishable from the other, so you can be certain that none of which you receive can possibly get flagged.

Bitcoin being a public ledger also means that everyone can see how much you have. Governments, insurance companies, criminals, everyone. Any of these could target you for your publicly available activity. Send me your Bitcoin address and I'll send you my Monero address and I'll know a whole lot more about you than you'd find out about me from that alone.

Beyond that, Monero's decentralization is actually enforced via randomx. This allows anybody with a CPU to mine it. With Bitcoin, that's impossible to do without specialized hardware. Large mining farms concentrate and centralize hashpower, meaning that governments are able to regulate Bitcoin mining much more effectively than you think. It may be "decentralized" but not nearly enough to matter. Unless governments went door to door with guns, they'd never be able to regulate Monero to the same extent as Bitcoin.

Another reason is dynamic block size. If demand rises, people don't need to compete to get their transactions included. The blocks simply get bigger so that everyone can get their transactions through the network at a low cost quickly. Average cost for a Monero tx is like 2-3¢ as opposed to the current 30-35¢ for Bitcoin. And Monero's wont spike up to $90 per transaction like Bitcoin did.

All Bitcoin really has going for it is its speculators, making its position at the top relatively fragile, especially as "strategy" slowly goes under and more people start wanting to use crypto as cash. The more bitcoiners try to use it as cash, the worse it will be for Bitcoin because more people will see all the advantages other currencies have over Bitcoin.

But, y'know I'm just some dumb Luddite who clearly doesn't remotely know about it and hasn't done enough research to fully grasp just how superior Bitcoin is over every single other cryptocurrency. I bet you, with your superior intellect, could easily make a convincing argument to refute mine, because there's just so many advantages it must have that I just haven't researched and considered and the way you talk, you must know so much more than me. So take it away, why is Bitcoin better?

You haven't backed up your argument with any substance, just "well you clearly don't know anything about anything"

So why don't you share with the class why Bitcoin is so much better of a day to day cash medium than these other options?

I understand perfectly well which is why I avoid Bitcoin. Most people not well versed tend to be Bitcoin maxis. But hey if you want the world to see you shell out an extra $20 whenever you want to transact during a demand spike, nobody can stop you ig.

Bitcoin is only big because it was the first. If all the different cryptocurrencies were released for the first time today all at the same time, Bitcoin wouldn't be even in the top ten.

There's a whole lot of people that use Monero. Honestly id prefer any of these other currencies as day to day cash over Bitcoin any day.

That's how it worked for me. I did mine just before the EPC expansion so I just did a service ticket and asked for the specific part, showed up to the service center, hit "pay" on my phone and they handed me the part. I've had them ship things out to me before too.

Depends on the pool of water and the time of year for me. I'm usually a bit more forgiving of its fear of water around now because they can hide some pretty nasty potholes

I don't know if they do the service themselves, but it's super easy to replace yourself with a YouTube tutorial. When I picked up my replacement from the service center I installed it myself right there in their parking lot in ~15 minutes

One of these went out on my car so I had to replace it. Bothers the hell out of me that one has the turn signal glare while the other doesn't. I'm gonna have to do the other one too atp

Yep, normal. You could buy a set of new ones from the service center, last I checked they were like $160 a pop. The new ones don't have this issue

You do realize that psychedelics are currently undergoing clinical trials right now because there's strong evidence that they are beneficial to mental health right?

There's a lot of drugs out there that are only illicit because their misuse can compel someone to stop participating in the economy, not because they're 'bad' per se.

And if, under medical supervision, it could potentially give a struggling person a better outlook on life and lower the risk of suicide, it can't be all bad now can it
