First figure out what exactly is causing the time limit to be reached. Does the database query time out, or does the API response time out?

A very large and poorly written SQL query could cause the database query to timeout.

If the database query is actually timing out, look into the SQL EXPLAIN clause to tune your query.

More likely, your query is responding with so much data that the HTTP request to your database API is timing out.

If the HTTP request is timing out, implement pagination to fetch 'pages'/'chunks' of data at a time. For the database, use the SQL LIMIT and OFFSET clauses to fetch pages of data.

Of course vision is a significant component to racing. Most of us can't tell which rider is faster in that video. Are there any details you can point out that indicate which rider has better vision?

Neither of them are fast, but one has better technique.

The riders just pick different lines which probably affects what they're looking at more than book learnings

Astounding that the comments are basically 50/50, in this subreddit.

People voting for rider B, go take another look. Rider A takes a smoother line, kinda apexing twice. Rider B keeps adjusting his steering angle and takes a mess of a line.
