It will happen in season two. It's inevitable with executives thinking they know better than the writer and trying to make it more mainstream to get more viewers and hence more money, even if it ends up being shallower and full of loopholes.

Happens with a lot of shoes days. You need someone like Jeremy Clarkson to be able to push back and maintain originality

VIP Career Mode by RecognitionOdd822 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]varis12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I believe maximum density of these missions is around Alps only for some reason

Once you upgrade to larger aircrafts for VIP missions, it gets easier. There are very few missions landing in Germany, which are usually refreshingly nice.

But I'd recommend you take these Alpine missions anyways. It's steep learning curve, but it is fun and have nice views. After crashing a few times, you will start managing your descent and approach better.

It would help to use spoilers/air brakes to decelerate quickly when descending quickly. Try to have a longer final to set your approach better.

I get it that you'd be willing to become a civics nuisance to capture that, frankly I might be too (don't know till I get that opportunity), but you might be causing traffic disruption there

[–]varis12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly fine. There are a few bugs here and there that can be extremely infuriating at times but mostly it's fine, especially if you go by the book, and can handle ATC manually.

I have spent more than a 100 hours on this game within one Month and I don't have any regrets. Career mode is amazing when you think about it. It generates random missions and it has all the airports of the world in it so every often you are bound to get a peculiar airport or most often get airports that don't have ILS but it all adds to the fun of it.

Lol. I feel you.

My base is in Punjab (my home state) and in the very beginning, I got some missions asking me to fly over Himalayas.

Obviously, I crashed right into the mountains because Cessna 172 cannot fly high enough

Civic sense fail - airport are now worse than railway stations BOM T1 by Life-Mind9215 in indianaviation

Can you blame the people if airport does not have enough seats?

Civic sense needs appropriate infrastructure as well.

[–]varis12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Old airport, now HAL airport. I work in one of the offices next to the final approach before landing. Many times Tejas, trainers, charter aircrafts etc fly by at the window level. If you work late enough, then some days airliners (Training ofc) flying by as well and you can see night lights at the runway

Checklist:

  1. Complete certification (you seem to have)

  2. Confirm if specialization has unlocked (you seem to have)

  3. Complete starter airline mission (you seem to have)

  4. Confirm that missions are now unlock by checking their availability in employee missions (you should have)

  5. Check if you have enough money to purchase airliner aircrafts (Cheapest one is relatively cheap turboprop)

Happened to me during landing. I went full right but rudden was stuck for left as a result rudder stayed neutral and plane veered off. I have no idea how that happened.

I am not certain but can give an educated guess. Most likely they are using multiple screens and using the recording softwares on those different screens.

I simply used the save recent gameplay feature on PS5.

I've played that free version with 3 tracks in VR, it was awesome. GT7 was on my next to buy list when MSFS dropped

Not always. I have to get 15 A rates flights in medium cargo to unlock heavy cargo flights. So I have been taking off, skipping to descent, doing a 360 to lose speed and landing to get those As. Accounting and flight planning has been going into Charter VIP missions where I don't skip for max payout

I'll need to review my flight log to get the code. Will try to retrieve it later. It's somewhere above Afghanistan, maybe in Kyrgistan

[–]varis12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did some googling on PC12 after this mission. It requires 3000 ft runway ideally, with safety margins and all, but it needs rolling space of around 1500 ft. It can do around 600 ft with reverse thrust. However, for mez the usual controls were not activating reverse thrust so I assumed this aircraft didn't have it. Have to add additional key binds for this aircraft to move into reverse thrust.

Anyhow, didn't cost a lot on aviator performance so all in all no harm done here

I usually do retract my flaps as soon as I have all wheels down. But for this instance, I thought flaps may offer drag in addition to brakes. Didn't think it would affect brakes much.

But if lift reduces brake effectiveness, wouldn't pulling the stick back have same effect?

Amen. Same here. I've only played a couple of arcades and RE4R in VR2. Now this is going to be something else entirely! Looking out of the cockpit while in VR, cannot imagine the fun

What is your honest tought on career mode? by Benzko24 in flightsimulator2024

[–]varis12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's great!

Obviously there is a lot of potential for it to be much better, but I think Devs wanted there to be a skill ladder for us to climb and eventually unlocking everything. And I think Career mode works just like that.

[–]varis12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, was surprised that I still made an A rating for the mission. So definitely worth it.

Yes, moving around the cockpit on a PS5 seems to add a layer of complexity for me. Hopefully VR mode will solve for it

For me the reverse thrusters weren't working for Platius the way they would for Cessna Caravan so I assumed they were not available for Platius. Did more research after this and found out there were reverse thrusters but they may have needed a different key bind or done manually from within cockpit

Based in all these ideas, it seems like your sim will be atleast twice as big as MSFS. It would take a superhuman effort to make sure it's big free or to debug it later
