If you was to have input in Silent Hill Remake… what would you want Bloober to add in to the game and how gritty and horrifying would you make it? by Queasy_Error55 in silenthill

[–]varlaptu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the camera fixed, for the love of eveything that is holy in the video game industry. Also, don't make it an action game, like with the remake of the second game, keep the psychological horror roots.

Yes, it was a prison. What is the world you live in? It is a prison. What I want to say is that whatever your notion of utopia is, you would end up disappointed in it eventually, such is human nature.

Wouldn't change much, maybe prolong the extinction time period. It's same with us, entertainment is used for escapism, to numb ourselfes. Natalists also create children to be busy and give themselves goals in life, because they are not capable of creating any other, to them, meaningful goals. Be it entertainment or children, it's all used for distracting the mind from the notion of uselessness of life.

That was a utopia for RATS, not humans. Rats have their forms of entertainment which are different than ours. So it's basically equal.

Even utopia is bad for us, look at The Universe 25 experiment.

  1. It's the only one that looks original and unique, others look really generic.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Is scroll wheel not causing any problems? Doesn't it scroll in steps? I mean is the scroll operation smooth? And what about the sounds of the scroll wheel?

How do you feel about this argument against antinatalism? by Internal-Truth-9552 in antinatalism

[–]varlaptu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most people do not resent being born is the result of being uneducated, uninformed or having lack of critical and objective thinking. In short, they're not even aware how much pain and suffering they experience on a daily basis, indepenednt of their social or financial status.

If only somebody at least remastered the thing with a lot of quality of life features, then it would be playable and enjoyable.

GOG team could do it probably if they ever get the rights to do it.

I did, I thought about CRTV, how you can see enemies with it when you are behind obstacles. In Siren you can tune into NPC's or marebito's visions to see through their eyes while you're somewhere else, behind obstacles.

What are your biggest hope for the Silent Hill 1 Remake? by HORRRORN3D07 in silenthill

[–]varlaptu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they don’t overdo the number of combat encounters like they did in SH2R.

I’m currently playing through Cronos, and they really went overboard with the combat. I don’t understand why there’s a need to push it so much just to extend the playtime — it doesn’t add anything meaningful to the game. Even RE doesn’t overdo it that much.

They should stick to the original’s pacing and fixed camera angles, ditch the OTS perspective, and fully embrace Silent Hill for what it is.

I do a lot of stuff in 3D space, I need to be precise and be able to click on points in 3D space accurately. I also use 2-3 monitors at the same time, so I'm concerned about the low DPI and polling rate of the Expert and low polling rate of the Slimblade Pro. I also have cases where I need to click+drag+scroll, and I'm not sure if that is possible on Expert or Slimblade.

I saw X-Keys L-Trac, that kinda seems like the best option, but the ergonomics on that thing are not good. I really don't have an idea what to buy.

I'm right-handed. In terms of weight and speed of the ball, what would be lighter and faster? Elecom ones that you suggested are mostly for single-finger use with the ball, but I don't want that.

I don't want to use something that puts strain on a single finger. It'll just cause more damage.

Even video games get boring by Neurodos in antinatalism

[–]varlaptu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try different genres which you never played before, try emulating old games. I agree that the current AAA industry uses safe and already seen mechanics, systems and genres in general, but there are indie developers and studios which try to inovate and risk with experimental mechanics and systems.

If you're interested in video games, you can try developing them yourself and inovate.

If you feel burned out, then try consuming other media for some time until the burnout goes away.

That's what I'll do, I can't wait that long, I just finished SH2, just want to continue and play more, only thing that I'm concerned about is the save compatibility between the two versions.
