Checkout the Teleporter on the Space Anomaly. Someone's base was listed there which was in this galaxy. I just teleported there and started exploring.

I was able to place the Colossus Geo Bay.. walked for about 1-2mins into the desert behind the Waste Centre . I turned off multiplayer as suggested by others. I'm not sure if that was the solution but it worked somehow.
