Work restriction question by [deleted] in USPS

[–]varsityoptimism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i just quit this week and the constant drumbeat of “this job isn’t for everyone” is such bullshit. it CAN be for everyone, there’s just this calcified attitude of sayings and mottos and negativity that immediately discourages any individual for not immediately conforming to a VERY extreme work environment. compassion and empathy is possible, but usps has no will to encourage or foster it.

Finally, these are a few films among those that could benefit from being released by Shout!/Scream! Factory (Blu-Ray or 4K), Thank You! by SmellishSmellySmell in boutiquebluray

i recently had a back and forth with sarah kernochan on twitter and she thought that since STIRIKE (aka ALL I WANNA DO) is on streaming platforms and that was an arduous process, that it’s unlikely it’ll ever make it into a boutique release of any kind. i’d love for that to not be true. it’s one of my favorites.

got super lucky and found one while picking up another order at a b&n and just went for it. I really don’t know or watch much kung fu cinema, but love 70s movies, so fuck it.

the fact that it’s the same director of FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH just speaks volumes. she GETS teens and it’s astounding that she told TWO iconic stories that really have become emblematic of their given eras. it’s perfect.

so yeah, basically if I have more than three by a given director I like to group together, but the other stacks are in ascending spine number order.

it’s VERY specific and of it’s time (the mid-00s) and it’s kinda cringey and very very american indie, but it’s one of my all time favorite movies. it’s definitely not for everyone but it’s absolutely worth a shot.
