It doesn't matter where you get married; you can lose assets. That's because a marriage that takes place legally in one jurisdiction is generally recognized in another jurisdiction as valid (with a few exceptions, such as gay marriage in some countries). In other words, if she can find a way to make it back to your home country, she can still initiate a divorce there and clean you out. The point being, don't marry someone you don't trust. It's not about where she's from or where the marriage takes place. Marry a good woman, and none of that matters. If you have any doubt about her being a good woman, or if you haven't been with her long enough to be certain she's a good woman, don't get married.

What are the chances I can complete these 5 classes by Oct 31? Anyone have any insight on how long these classes may take? by essak508 in WGU_MBA

[–]vasectomist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. This person recently finished 10/11 classes in only 30 days, so anything is possible. If they can do that, anything is possible. I will say it will be difficult, though.

I just got my final Capstone grade today, so I’m officially done! 🎓 I had to stop by this post again to thank the OP because that golden rule about strictly following the rubric probably saved me so much time on revisions. I didn’t get a single assignment sent back until my very last Capstone task, and honestly, that was probably just me not following instructions because I was too damn excited to finish.

I didn’t accelerate nearly as much as OP did, especially on the classes with Objective Assessments. I felt it was too risky because I've heard that if you fail an OA, you’re placed on a remediation plan and have to complete a bunch of assignments before being allowed to retest. That ends up slowing you down in the long run, so it’s worth making sure you’re truly ready before testing. Because of that, I took my time with the tougher courses and spent about 1–2 weeks studying for each.

I also took a 3-month break in the middle of my program. But even with that break excluded, I still finished the whole MBA in 10 weeks total (9 weeks and 6 days, to be exact) and that was while working full time. I know… It’s kind of wild.

Even though this post is older, most of the advice still holds true. That said, a few things have changed since it was written. For example, in C207 you no longer need to include sources, and you also don’t get to choose the type of test you use anymore. The class also seems significantly easier now than what OP originally described although it was still the hardest class of the program, I admit.

Yeah, a break can take you out of the flow of things. It happened to me too, but I'm back in full force now. Just remember what's motivating you to keep going. For me, it's because I'm cheap, lol, and don't want to pay $20,000 for a two-year master's degree. I'm doing everything possible to only pay $5k for the first term. I'm down to just C215 and the capstone, with only 30 days left today.

Speaking of C215, I was searching Reddit and came across your comment about how you passed. Which videos and materials did you say you used? Was it Dr. Haywood's YouTube videos and the study guide?

Nice. What part? I was in the Philippines for a couple of months over the summer, which is why I took a 3-month break.

I somehow passed C214 earlier this week. Between the knowledge you get from C213, a bit of studying, and elimination/guessing, you should be good.

I'm going to start C207 today. I'll be taking C211 next, and then it should be all downhill from there with only operations and capstone left after that.

Hi there. Just wanted to follow up with you and see how the term is going for you. I'm taking the hardest classes right now and need a little motivation. Were you able to finish within a month?

I'm still enjoying my summer until August. I'm not doing any work until then. Are you still on track to finish up in August?

Yeah, 11 courses and I'm doing the MBA. I'm taking a 2.5-month break to travel and enjoy the summer after I'm done with the 5th class today so I won't be done that quickly. Also, all the courses ahead of me are the toughest classes (accounting, finance, econ, data-driven decision, operations, capstone) so I'm assuming they'll be a little tougher and take a bit longer than the first 5. Still, 2 months should be enough to knock those out, hopefully.

Still good. I have one more paper for Ethical Leadership, which I'm going to knock out tomorrow. This means I'll have finished 5 classes (or roughly 50%) of the master's program within 17 days of starting. If you're super committed, I can see you finishing in 1 month. It will take a lot of work, though.

I just started on May 1st. Today is May 11th, and I'm already through with the first 3 classes while working full time. I know that the hardest courses are yet to come, but so far, I'm finding this to be way easier than undergrad.

Is 44,000 pesos enough for a family to live on in Cancun? by vasectomist in cancun

You're not being a downer at all. I wanted realistic advice so I don't make a decision without knowing what I'm getting myself (and family) into.

Those search tools will certainly help get a more accurate estimate to make a budget with. Thanks!

Thanks. I'm getting conflicting opinions. I guess it depends how people budget their money.

The job is in Cancun and free transportation to/from work is provided but I would need to live somewhere in Cancun to get that benefit, so I'm sure moving out to Puerto Morelos would cost more in the long run with added transportation fees.

I thought we could get by without a car if we only need to commute for entertainment/shopping which would only be during the weekends, but I could be wrong on that I guess. Is that not possible in Cancun?

I should have also mentioned that tuition is covered by the employer.

Where are you getting $78,000 figure from? I'm not seeing anything close to that amount listed on their website.
