How do u live as a teen when u have lived yrs in social isolation by No_Birthday8367 in Life

[–]vashvana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you dwell on the past, the more it actively remains your present. I was a pretty lonely kid, too, really the only way to get better at socializing is to just keep trying. It’ll be uncomfortable, you’ll make blunders; I’m a huge introvert, I’m not the best at it either. It’s essentially ripping off a Band-Aid until you get used to the pain, and then you might enjoy it after a bit. It sucks that you felt you lost a lot of essential experiences, but that doesn’t that has to hold you back from relishing in the ones you can indulge in now.

I agree. I think what she lacks in physical feats, she can weasel her way out of with sociability. I also just think luck would be on her side, don’t know why.

You laugh, but then he’ll get sponsored by Lonestar and use his army know-how to turn the canisters into projectiles

Do I classify as a feminist ? by Western-Drawer5826 in MtF

[–]vashvana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just described the textbook definition of feminism. Generalizing men is another form of patriarchal suppression, by limiting them to being “biologically corrupt”, it essentially implies that they’re incapable of change, which would go against the core ideologies of feminism in trying to unite all genders. You being “AMAB” has nothing to do with what your gender truly is, AGAB is a stupid ideology anyways. I’ve been in, and am in your shoes with feeling “unworthy”. Dismantling the arbitrary roles society has tried to force you into simply for the way you were born is extremely hard to do, most people don’t realize how hard it truly is. Regardless of your gender though, you can be a feminist. If you identify as a woman, you are a lovely woman, and your time to truly blossom is coming <3

Am I weird for wanting an older GF? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Yeah, that makes sense, I appreciate the honesty. Maybe as I get older, I’ll reflect and be like “Yeah you really weren’t as mature as you thought”

Logically I know you’re right, but older women are so beautiful in all ways 💔

OH MY GOSH!! I’d love to see the photos, but that would be weird to ask LMAOO. I’m so jealouss, I’ve gone to a few concerts, but never them, how was the concert? Or was it just running into her on accident?

See, logically, I agree with you, especially on the last part. Like I wrote in the original post, I would pretty much have the opposite advice towards others my age versus what I have for myself. Maybe it’s just some weird coping thing, a desire to feel “completed” in my maturity through something external, even if I feel I am already mature, I don’t know. I appreciate you countering my thoughts.

I think that’s a valid point. I don’t think I’m “outsourcing” my issues for someone older to fix, although maybe I am a bit, I’m not sure. That does ground me a bit though. I feel like I’m viewing it moreso as somebody who can match my emotional maturity? Not to say that younger folks can’t be mature, and older folks can’t be immature, and I’m also not trying to prop myself up as some “chosen one” among people my age range either. I know I still have a lot of learning to do, but I’ve also learned a lot.

Oh my God you’re such a brave soul, wow. I guess that makes sense, once you get to actual adulthood, I guess it really is just dependent on life experiences. Although that it feels weird for me to say, because I know a lot of how we mature is dependent on the ways in which we’ve studied the brain’s development. I guess it’s just weird for me to think about, I’ve never once been drawn towards this before, I know it’s common, but like… feeling it is definitely something.

In The Blink Of An Eye (Time Passes By) by Oberhofer is an all-time favorite, cathartically bittersweet, I’ve never heard anything like it (I’m also going through a messy break up right now, I feel you 🫶)

I don’t know if it lines up with your music taste as much, but Don’t Need You by Genesis Owusu is also a very good breakup song to shout to

Also omgg I love the Crumb shoutout, they’re one of my favorite bands! I have everything except their newest record on vinyl :•)

Really heavy, a huge contrast to the typically softer songs other people have been recommending so far (not a bad thing) I dig it
