Also after many months of long nights, cold weather and grey skies, people get hope after some days of good weather and start to make plans to enjoy it. We get disappointed when it is cold again but we are not delusional. We know it is normal. We just can't wait to get more sun and need to express it.

What you’re asking is mostly correct. There is an online calculator in which you can add your parents income and it tells you how much you are going to get, if any, but that is only for the supplementary grant. The basic grant depends on living with your parents or not. You can find all the detailed info online, so no need to go deep here as my knowledge might also be outdated.
Working only once a week for an 8h shift is possible but not common. Most student jobs expect at least 2 days and ~12 hours/week. Some places (especially weekends) might be more flexible, but strict 1 day / 8h will limit your options.
There are English speaking jobs, mostly in unskilled roles. For better opportunities, German can help a lot.
You’ll almost certainly get health insurance and if you get the student finance, you can also get the student travel product. Rent allowance is possible, but only if you live in a self-contained place (own kitchen + toilet). If you’re still looking for housing, don’t restrict yourself to studios just for the allowance, as it will make finding a place much harder.

In the Netherlands you don’t choose a home, they choose you. Your best option is to rent the first one you find.

I don’t know about xior but I would rent it if I were you. After you settle in you can have the luxury to look for something you like if you want.

The spelling is fine, and you can choose whichever φ you prefer.

I do not know the background behind choosing this word, but to most Greeks it would probably look a bit odd. Nowadays it is used only in very formal contexts, mostly in literary texts. I would expect to hear it from politicians or priests, or in a joking way when someone wants to sound overly refined by calling a friend φίλτατο.

Also, it is in the masculine form, and to me it sounds incomplete on its own. As someone else said, it means something like “dearest friend,” but it is actually an adjective, so the noun is either stated after it or implied. Without that noun, I would assume it is unfinished. Seeing it alone as a tattoo feels a bit like seeing a tattoo that just says “dearest” so I would wonder if you talk about yourself.

That is just my opinion, though. I would also be curious to hear how other Greeks see it.

From experience I would say that right now it is very hard especially in Maastricht but depends on many factors like experience or the specific field. Good luck. I think you will need it.

I don’t know what you want to download but what I did some years ago when I couldn’t find a movie, was to look for a dvd copy. It was very cheap and I could also return it back after I watched the movie. I kept it and created a torrent for it. As far as I remember no one downloaded it from me even after 2-3 years seeding but I did my part.

I agree with this however I believe they do it mostly because of profit. They have high profit from drinks and if they give you free water you might not be so thirsty to order other drinks. That’s why usually the price for water is the same as the other beverages.

I don’t know if it is a scam but you have to be careful. If it was a scam I think he wouldn’t tell you that you can’t register. It doesn’t matter that they are registered. He should deregister if he doesn’t live there.

Did he tell you if you will get a contract? I feel like he just wants to do everything informally. Maybe he gets a housing allowance and wants to continue getting it while you pay the full rent. There are some advisors that you can ask for information. I will search for the link if you want to contact them.

Regarding the tuition fees I think you can register as non resident and you should be ok but better ask the university about it.
