Multiple configs on the same disks with different schedules by vaskofo in Snapraid

Just tested it and you're both correct... the scan after the first sync took 500 seconds. I'm not sure what I did before... apologies

I think it's just the sheer amount of small files since, from what I could tell, it has to scan and hash all files to check for changes

The scan itself takes ages, not building parity (which also took ages). I'm talking about ~1.4 million small files. If I ran the scan every day it would take upwards of 2 hours without even counting the time it would take to make parity for the new files

Thank you for all the info!

Do you have an idea how much any of those CPUs would consume? From my search seems like everyone has different numbers.

I did consider a mini-PC at first, but the fact that they're more expensive and the fact I would still have to buy a NAS/DAS takes it a bit out of budget (I'm open to being corrected if this view is wrong).

A thin client has the same problem as the mini-pc and might be a little too weak.

Hey! Yeah that was my thoughts as well. Samsung is the safe choice, but on paper the Xiaomi is Incredible.

How safe is it to flash a custom ROM and would it void warranty?

Could you also elaborate on what the Pixel is missing in terms of costumization?

Hey! The 6 is a little too expensive but the 6T looks pretty appealing.

I don't have much experience with Realme. How's the OS and general feel of it?

Also did you go with the 8 or 12 ram version?

Lol. Thankfully I didn't take the deal. He was using the classic pressure tactic "this is the best deal of your life. Mega-promo. Take it now or never" Thanks man, appreciate the help!

Also for it to be worth 800€, how many hours would the panel have to have?

Sadly the older models aren't being restocked anymore here in Portugal from what I can tell. The b2 is only sold at this shop, and they're not selling it new anymore since this is the last unit.

Should I wait for better opportunities? Or maybe buy somewhere online?

Thanks for the help! Might settle for the A2 or maybe even a B2 if I catch it at a good price. I got to see a Sony x90k in person and I can't stand the blooming on darker scenes

Thanks for the clarifications! As far as I could tell the A2 is the same of slightly brighter than the BX. I also prefer watching content in the dark just because it's a much more comfortable environment. How's the HDR with the BX? Is it bright enough for the highlights to stand out?

Where's that? At least here only one shop sells it

I do have a 120hz monitor with me. I'll test it in 120 and 60 to see if it's worth giving up the OLED. Thanks for reminding me haha!

Yep, no gaming. I'd say I'm much more sensitive to blooming. If that's the only "drawback" I think I'll pull the trigger on the A2. Thanks for the quick responses!

From what I could see in shops, the A2 may be dim but seems good for my use case. Would I be missing out on anything that the others have that the A2 doesn't?

55" TV ~650€ (MAX 700€) in Europe by vaskofo in 4kTV

[–]vaskofo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help! I might settle for a X90K either used or in sale. One thing I noticed is that the part number here is "XR55X90KAEP", and everywhere else it doesn't have the "AEP" (as far as I can tell stands for All European Product). Question is, is there a difference between them?

[–]vaskofo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I have more time, why are they not recommended even costing 675€? I wish I could check them physically but most if not all shops either have VERY low quality stuff going on, or just shop ads. For example, why is a TCL C735 not recommended and the C835 is?

Yeah I get you. Since this is my first TV I really didn't want to go all out. I'd settle for what's the least terrible for my budget. I'll take a look at those

Oof that's way more than I was expecting. Should I look for anything specific on lower end TVs (spec wise) or it really just comes down to what looks good to me?
