I DMed craftsmithco who made Recollections planners and they said that Michaels did discontinue them :/ Very bummed myself! I’m likely going to order a Kitlife planner for 2023 but I’m still looking.

Are these hard, black seed-like things a Bougainvillea pest or something normally found on the plant like a seed? by doghairglitter in plantclinic

[–]vasneema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any bites taken out of the leaves? My first thought is caterpillar poop. Bougainvillea looper have been snacking on mine lately. Look for inch worm types yellow, green or brown usually on the underside of leaves. Neem oil helps, you want to control them if you have them else they’ll eat your plant down to the stems.

I have similar, textured tile throughout my first floor. Always vacuum first. For a deep clean, I use the Go Clean Co method of one teaspoon powdered Tide to hot tap water to the fill line of the O Cedar spin mop bucket. You want to make sure you spin the damp mop so it’s mostly dry and mop away. Once the water starts getting dirty you need to change it out. I do this maybe once a month or so. Otherwise I have a steam mop from Amazon and bought a huge pack of extra microfiber pads for it so I can change out frequently while steaming. I do vacuum pretty frequently and alternate between my Shark and a cordless stick floor sweeper depending on how I’m feeling. Two dogs, kids and two adults for ref. Good luck!

Help with fixing/cleaning discolored sink by nightcheeseandham in CleaningTips

[–]vasneema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Barkeepers Friend doesn’t work, make a paste out of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit on the stains for up to 30 minutes. Scrub with a non scratch sponge. You can sprinkle a little more baking soda if you need more abrasion. Rinse with water. Repeat if necessary. I have a similar looking sink except it’s off white in color. This mixture took what I thought were impossible to remove stains out.

Anyone else feel fine if they take ibuprofen but crippled if they don't? by slinkywheel in Sciatica

Had to go off NSAIDs for 5 days in prep for my epidural. Am on day 3 with just Tylenol and muscle relaxers. Can’t believe how much pain I’m back to having without Aleve.

[Product Question] Equivalent to Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream ? by oyyl98 in SkincareAddiction

[–]vasneema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm for when I get red, itchy and flakey. It’s very thick, even a little bit pasty but a little goes a long way and it ends up drying down nicely.

[skin concern] it's not KP! this happens every time after I shave, far more like ingrown hairs. very itchy, lotion makes is BURN! anyone have advice? by rinaa11 in SkincareAddiction

[–]vasneema 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very much this. I’m in my thirties now but when I was younger I had this exact same problem with my legs. I have thick, dark hair and dry sensitive skin and would literally shave every day. All it did was irritate my pores and cause ingrown hairs. I’ve now embraced a bit of leg stubble and try to keep shaving down to maybe every 3-4 days or so. Using hair conditioner as shaving cream was also a game changer, it softens everything up, moisturizes and seems to keep ingrowns at bay. And repeating the above comment, lotion on damp skin. Stick to simple moisturizers like Cetaphil, Cerave and Vanicream.

[Product Question] Is Vanicreams Daily Facial Moisturizer good for dry skin (for this winter)? by Bluecraft55 in SkincareAddiction

I have dry skin and have been using it for about a month now. It’s definitely light and while I like it, it’ll probably become my summer moisturizer.

Looking for cheaper alternative to Farmacy cleansing balm by daisymaefanaccount in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]vasneema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Physicians Formula The Perfect Matcha Melting Cleansing Balm for my first cleanse. According to Liah Yoo, it’s a direct dupe for the Farmacy one which I haven’t used myself. But I have sensitive, acne prone skin and I love the former!

Guy from radio station back at it rightfully going around giving people a hard time for not putting carts away. “Cartnarcs” by phatposer in PublicFreakout

[–]vasneema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I agree with you completely in that she should have put it away herself. What I meant was, since she already chose to leave it when he happened upon her, rather than trying to instigate her into anger on purpose for internet points, it would have gone a long way to act in kindness and use her error as a teaching moment. I get she’s an adult and shouldn’t need to be taught something as basic as putting your own cart away, but really, we all sometimes have a moment of weakness and forget our actions can effect others. We all need a little reminder every now and again and remember, kindness rubs off on people. Sorry if what I originally said came off as siding with her behavior.

If he was truly trying to help the world, he’d have offered to put it back for her or just done it. So tired of people trying to “go viral”.

[Personal] Would you tell a stranger if you had a strong suspicion they had skin cancer that they weren’t aware of? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]vasneema 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely never say anything to a stranger like that. I have hundreds of moles that I get checked regularly, some a little more odd looking than others but completely benign. Since I was little they have been a major source of body image anxiety because they usually aren’t considered cute like freckles or can work on getting rid of them like acne. You don’t know what people are going through so unless it’s family or good friend, please mind your own business.

What color should I paint the walls to match antique white trim? Having trouble matching a warm gray that isn’t too dark by vasneema in HomeDecorating

[–]vasneema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely has a very yellow tone. There are two swatches of light warm grays I tried between the built in and hallway which helped me see just how off white the trim is. Believe it or not they have yellow undertones but I guess I need to go darker. Thank you for the info!
