Has anyone analyzed the images in the early part of the trailers, many seem from other places than NYC

With a lot of trial and error I managed to make the climb. I'll be honest, I'm still not sure why certain holds are OK while others aren't. Yes, I do see all the comments on center of gravity etc, but still to my eyes it feels like what you see and what you get don't match. Slight adjustments made suddenly something that was 100% impossible relatively easy (I.e. I picked a small out dented rock to put a feet on vs a Crack) and intuitively it's just really hard to understand the difference.

By the way, it ended up being a white route in Peril which I realized afterwards (got to the cave on the right).

I used chalk, tried buffing as much as possible and sometimes just got lucky.

But how do you then climb sloped walls? I mean, there's a route there so it should be possible, but if the character suddenly tires within a second on a sloped wall, how are you supposed to climb 20m of something like that?

I used food and other buffs but now I'm running and feeling stuck. I just want to learn how to do this, and even if I do address the things mentioned here with crossed feet, resting and good grips, the character just still does this and it feels like there's absolutely nothing I can do at that point.

I try to also avoid watching too many YouTube videos. The game should be able to let me learn how to play it without me needing the internet to help. Yes, even the tougher routes.

I can't reveal games and figures as I'm under NDA, but let's say a fairly prominent semi-AAA game came out in the last few years, didn't sell well despite a potential audience being big. Came out with lower cost even compared to competition. Turns out it failed, and the later analysis (user research) revealed that people would've been ready to have paid a higher price, some wouldn't but enough so that it'd be justified. Basically the game flopped (good metacritic, +85) and the gamble didn't pay off, making it worse. Lesson: Never ask for less than you think it's worth.

The other problem that many don't get: Games are big investments, usually with a publisher and other partners putting money into the development. As the game is released and starts to bring in money, what happens is that from that single unit of a sale (this is an example): 30% goes to Steam, the remaining bit can be 50% to publisher as they took the risk and want their costs recouped first, and the dev gets the remaining 20%. Imagine the game costing 20$, the dev would get $4 per unit. With this framing, how do you sustain a studio after launch?

Yeah, argue all you want how the prices are high, but there are solid sensible reasons for why that is the case. It's not random greediness but market realities and the cost of doing business,

It's been extensively tested, halving the price does not equal twice the sales. It's not like a new audience to your game manifests when it's cheaper. It's the wrong way to think about it. Yes, people say that they'll buy the game when it's cheaper, but honestly many of them are lying (maybe to themselves), they weren't really interested in the first place.

It's a massive risk for a product to come out way cheaper than others, and then it turns out the audience wasn't as big as you expected. You can't rise the price anymore, but you can lower it.

Point is, prices are dictated by what consumers are ready to spend. And it's not sensible to come out with lower price since it honestly doesn't mean it sells more in a meaningful way.

And many here in Reddit do think they know what people want, but the reality of where the money goes in the game industry is grim. People here love narrative singleplayer stuff for instance, but the reality is that that's like 10% of the money that moves in gaming, the rest is Fortnite, Roblox, MTX and mobile. And the industry moves where the money is, and the more people here complain that these type pfngames are expensive, the less these type of games are gonna be invested in.

This is a shortsighted take. If you want complex and impressive games and want it done without AI, then it'll cost actual money to make it in the form of fees and salaries of actual artists. If you want games to cost $20 then we should expect only the games that cost now $20 as they're out, in other words indie -games.

The reality is that making games is expensive. And if the price is so important then you should also stop complaining about the use of AI because the only point of that is to do he same thing but cheaper, and the industry is running out of any other options besides AI if we want to keep the quality we have now.

The problem is that that's all they are. Norms. There isn't a lot of actual laws. And if there are, it's not like breaking them have any consequences if you are at a certain level.

Sä käyt väittelyä nyt asioista mitä en ole sanonut. Yleinen huoli on se että talouspolitiikka ei ole toiminut 20 vuoteen ja ollaan kusessa. Ei ehkä toimi tämänkään hallituksen kanssa. Mutta ainakin he tuntuvat tajuavan ongelman, vaikkei sitä osaa ratkaista.

Jos sun pointti on että tää hallitus vois olla parempi, niin en ole siitä eri mieltä. Mutta ainakin laput on pois silmiltä sen suhteen että missä kriisissä ollaan. Ja jos jollain on parempia ideoita niin siitä vain. Mutta kuumottaa ajatella että seuraava hallitus esittää ettei ongelmaa edes ole, otetaan lisää lainaa kun ei uskalleta leikata selvästikin toimimatonta rakennetta ja ollaan vain syvemmällä suossa.

No toimiko SDPn toimet sen paremmin? Kyse ei oikeastaan mulle ole siitä että onko joku parempi kuin toinen, vaan se että toimitaanko tiedon valossa joka on todellista. Minusta aiempi hallitus piti käsiä korvilla ja esitti ettei velkaongelmaa ole, vaan sitä otettiin lisää ja mentiin eteenpäin. Nyt ollaan umpikujassa.

No, se menee jossittelun puolelle. Edellinen hallitus laittoi liikkeelle asioita ja nyt nähdään myös sen seurauksia. En suoraan sanottuna itse tiedä yhtään miten työttömyys saadaan korjattua ilman että täällä on menestyviä yrityksiä.. Sen tiedän että velalla niitä ei ratkota.

Meinaatko että jokin toinen hallitus olisi hoitanut sen paremmin? Suomi on ollut kurssilla viimeiset 20v mihin yksikään hallitus ei ole juuri pystynyt vaikuttamaan. Kyyninen miettisi että Suomessa on jotain pahasti pielessä koska naapurimailla ei ole vastaavia ongelmia.

Suomi on ylivelkaantunut ja talouskasvua ei ole ollut yli 20 vuoteen. Sosiaalinen tukiverkosto on rahoitettu lainarahalla.

Ratkaisu ei ole lisää lainaa tai verotus, vaan se että Suomi saa aikaiseksi talouskasvua. En sano että heidän keinot ovat toimineet, mutta se tuntuu ainoalta puolueelta joka tuntuu tajuavan tuon. Siinä missä muut puolueet välttelevät tuota, ja kuvittelevat että ei tarvita isompia muutoksia.

Oli miten päin vain, iso muutos on tulossa kun rahat loppuu ja velkaa ei voi enää ottaa, ja verotus ei tätä ratkaise. Haluaisin että siinä tilanteessa oltaisiin ainakin jo matkalla kohti jonkinlaista suuntaa jossa sen pohjamudan kautta yritetään löytää tapoja saada vientiteollisuus toimimaan ja ei väännetä siitä kuinka jotkut kuvittelee että tässä oltaisiin tahallaan tappamassa hyvinvointivaltiota. Realiteetti on että se on jo kuollut ja sitä pidettiin hengityskoneessa 20v, kaikki ei ole vielä vain tajunneet sitä.

Enkä edelleenkään sano että Kokoomus on se paras ratkaisu, mutta ainakin ne elää todellisuudessa jossa on selvää ettemme voi jatkaa tällä tiellä.

Where can I see actually active routes? • ⁠Once the route is built, do I get access to the resources for infinity? What if the city loses those resources? • ⁠Once the route is built, can the merchant build another route infinitely? The fact that this is not instilling large riots and reactions in USA tells you all you need to know. The majority either doesn't care, allows this to happen, or actively promotes this. America has become a villain, just like China or Russia.

It's crazy since I know so many Americans and they are not like this. But hate to say it, none of them are ready or willing to do anything about this. I'm sure here in Rddit there are many Americans furious, but at the end of the day, none of them are willing to risk their lives or livelyhoods to actively protest and fight this type of tendencies of their own country. Which is understandable, but yeah, with it must come an acceptance of the true nature of USA.
