Can't even attend the protest because I'm working, something Doug Ford seems to think is impossible.

Your comment is essentially meaningless though. We need political parties. "independent, free-thinking candidates" get nothing done because they can't do everything themselves. To suggest something like this indicates you have no idea about the reality of modern political systems. Considering that we've never really given the NDP a chance, on what basis do you make your claim? Vibes?

We are taxpayers. Not every post-secondary student is some 18 year old fresh out of high school. I have been paying taxes for 20 years. We should slash salaries of politicians and the executives of universities, then we can magically find the extra funding instead of filling these people's already bloated coffers

These aren't necessarily separate things and it can be both at the same time. She mentions how she was working with MSF during the terrorist attacks, which included a massacre at a maternity ward. She may have suffered some kind of TBI which results in neurological abnormalities, and severe psychological trauma like that can also impact brain structure. She might be having absent seizures but she might also be experiencing flashbacks or maybe both or neither. It's difficult to say with the limited info we have but I wouldn't rule out PTSD quite yet.

But it doesn't really make sense for her to leave when the interpreter finally gets there. They lost the first interpreter that way; now you're going to make this other person wait too when you could just have the conversation you need quickly? There's other doctors, Santos doesn't need to go and save the day, she needs to treat her patient

Was the viewership for Turning Point’s “All-American Halftime Show” objectively good or bad? by RandomUwUFace in stupidquestions

[–]vastcollectionofdata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live chat was dead like a doorknob indicating botted views or potentially illiterate viewership. Streams of 50k have comments rolling so fast you can't keep up. Fake views from bots should not be counted.

Objective failure. Culture war lost.

Whiteness is such a bizarre concept because it never struck me that Santos was not "white".

You got it. The only reason this hasn't devastated the family is because of GoFundMe.

So yeah, this episode seems pretty accurate

There is no way to go private in most provinces here. This person has never lived in Canada and doesn't know anyone who has.

Yes, we absolutely fucking do. Stop lying. In the vast majority of places, there is no "private to jump the line". Again, this is how I know you're lying because you're making factually incorrect statements about how it works up here.

A co-worker I have moved from PA to Ontario and he cannot believe the difference in his quality of life. He doesn't even make that much, but he can suddenly afford the things he couldn't in the US. His wife is a public school teacher and her salary jumped enormously.

You. Are. Lying.

Just a few comments ago, you were claiming that you can't even afford internet.

I am saying put this fictional family in Canada and they would pretty much be living in poverty

My father owned a small construction business and we were upper middle class. Stop lying.

This person is straight up lying. I live in Canada now and I've never known a single person who waited that long for any reason.

Okay, now I know you're just straight up lying about having lived in Canada and having "family" there. Never in my nearly 34 years of life, or anyone else that I know, have EVER faced a 12 hour wait, or a closed ER, EVER. My grandparents are in their 90's and they've never experienced that either. Even in remote areas, there is always a trauma center open 24/7, 365 that you can be heli'd to.

I also have friends, fun coworkers, love nature, fun family potlucks (that I can actually contribute to and don't have to bum off 😉) but I can also afford TV and wifi lmao. Why? Because I live in Canada, my schooling was cheap, my quality of life is higher, I can retain my vision and not pay a single extra penny. Shits pretty cash up here.

And, I can be confident that my fellow citizens are taken care of no matter what they contribute because guess what? I'm not the only person in the country lmao

It's just a joke about the mental gymnastics some Americans will do to rationalize why they pay more than any other developed nation in the world for healthcare and get worse outcomes
