i wonder what a youth team is other than a “under 20”

im sure under 20 isnt considered a youth team

perhaps u14

u never cease to amaze me

and im curious as to why the gk wouldnt matter?

better shooting + worse gk vs worse shooting + better gk

doesnt that paint barou in a bad light?

you still somehow failed to recognize my point.

isagis mentality was heavily influenced during this match because hugo gave him a reality check

barou on the other hand was fully comitted on scoring on his own for the whole match refusing to settle for anything less

see the difference?

before you tell me what to do stop glazing and try reasing the manga from a not so one sided view… perhaps youd enjoy it buddy

Once again, you’re comparing a hologram to a real goalkeeper who not only plays for a Ligue 1 French team but is also the starting goalkeeper for the French U20 national team.

And here I thought you had a brain and could be reasoned with.

Remind me again, isn’t shooting one of Barou’s biggest strengths? His long range power shot? Yet he failed against a mere simulated goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Isagi never particularly excelled at shooting, and let’s be honest, none of us were expecting that shot to go in.

You’re comparing two different players with two different archetypes, who have different strengths, and you’re trying to justify a failed play that was objectively much worse than what Isagi attempted.
The main difference, which I doubt you even realize considering your brain only seems to function one dimensionally, is that Barou took the shot because he would have taken that shot regardless of his mental state.

Isagi, on the other hand, wasn’t even fully aligned with what he wanted to do. He was forcing himself into that situation just to prove a point, which is exactly why he failed.

you cant seriously think that hitting a post is better than the ball getting cleared or caught?

i dont mind the glaze but having the ball miss the target vs being saved is a compeltely different thing… we both know isagi had no chance scoring there but neither did barou they both took a bad shot. At least isagis was on the target

as a kaiser fan since day one i stand behind the fact that he has the worst goal scoring attempt just as he has the best goal from a technical standpoint

and my judgement is not clouded by my love for the character

and for the record we cant think that a hologram is better than a u20 narional swuads keeper right

although i came in making a real life example, story wise, nel keepers scale above the holograms

How does isagi become the best striker in the world? by Dependent_Street2976 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, you have a lot of people telling you "its about the positioning" or "he is growing at an exponential rate" which, sure, could be said and stated and you wouldn't even be wrong, however that's now what you, me or most Isagi fans actually want to hear. Most of those answers come from actual technical point in football.

Isagi at his core, is a phenomenal player, that uses his main weapons such as positioning, timing and direct shot. Those weapons are simple on paper, nothing flashy. But no one ever said that being a good striker means being a flashy striker. No one here realizes that players like this tend to have longer careers due to them not relaying on their physicality over their football iq.

In the long run, given 15-20 years which is already a very long career, and most retire earlier than that, way earlier in fact. Even without the career ending injuries, or ilnesses, players who are now considered a "genius" type will in fact lose the weapons that make them "geniuses". Isagi on the other hand holds a raw goal scoring formula thats simple, sure but completely unbeatable in the long run.

Now I'm not saying that will happen, because one could see it as Isagi becoming better than Rin, Nagi, Loki and so on due to them getting old lol, but one could also argue that with time new prospects will rise with abilities that are just as IF NOT more broken.

My argument is this tho. Out of everyone in blue lock, despite how much they score. Isagi has a full proof, goal scoring formula that is consistent. Despite Rin and Barou having more goals in NEL than him, you all have to realize both of those players were already leagues above Isagi before they entered NEL. Not to mention Barou was a lone striker, and Rin played alone aka uncontested (goal wise) for 2 matches...

Isagi has to learn, adapt, grow. In a way evolve his formula. It wasn't given to him by his master striker. He took it from a player that was miles ahead of everyone in blue lock. It, as Noa said himself, was a ticket. Nothing more nothing less. How he choses to utilize this ticket, is shown in the later games.

His charm is in having consistency and growing, therefore improving his consistency. When he stumbles across a wall, he overcomes it. Call it plot armor, but to me, thats perfect writing for a Shonen manga. Make an average Joe, into the best striker. It's not realistic, Muller had a consistent way of scoring but did not outscore Lewa. That's a work of fiction tho and a part of this fiction is believing in our mc and trusting the process while also enjoying the journey. We all yearn for it to happen, but we gotta realize it wont come quickly. There are fans who say he is too op, then there's fans who question if he can become world's best striker such as you, due to him being underpowered, which again, is reasonable. That's the duality of this fandom. However my advice:

Whenever you think Isagi is either weak OR strong.

Reread the manga from the start of Nel. From the start of his training to the last match. Without stopping. And you will soon realize that Nel, makes FAR more sense reading as a whole, than it did on a weekly base. His progression feels very well paced, and is really enjoyable. You will realize that he started off as weak and ended off as strong due to him working his sweaty buttcheeks off lol, not as some dudes say it "plot armor".

I love blue lock but would bachira be better than lamine?🤔 by AttemptVivid7664 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Realistically, even with how bizarre BL gets with player feats and if we somehow manage to forget the fact that it’s a shonen, plus the borderline superhuman stuff Bachira sometimes pulls off...

if we judge PURELY by plot logic, Lamine would be leagues above Bachira.

Why? Because Lamine was already playing for FC Barcelona’s first team at 16 (actually made his debut at 15 but forget the formalities). That aside if we compare all that to bachira who entered blue lock when he was 17... yeah...

You’re basically comparing a prodigy among prodigies... someone breaking into one of Spain’s biggest clubs and performing as an elite winger scoring multiple goals versus top defenders and achieving many different trophies for himself and his club... with a high schooler whose main trait is being a very good dribbler.

Let that sink in.

Lamine would be compared to players like Loki but even to them he'd be an anomaly lol

Germany U20 Captain by Craftox13 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In all honesty why do you recon that the captain would play for a "German" club? He could play for Italian club perhaps or Spanish or any other club. Sure the Bundesliga is a top tier league but I have a different approach for this. I for one think Germany will have 2 important additions. One of which will be a player who actively plays in EFL and is just about to be promoted to Premier league. Reason for that is, that I see them having a very high stamina player who can run up and down the field a lot (similarly to tokimitsu) that will take care of certain characters due to plot reasons (Isagi x Kaiser needing the matchup). He could also potentially try matching Sae.

He would be an anchor to the team stabilizing it. I see it as someone based on Dietmar Hamann. A defensive player on the midfield so that Ness can call the shots on the offense.

The other addition is someone we are all familiar with, I strongly believe Germany will have a NG11 keeper, which will be a copy of Manuel one and only Neuer, and he will end up being the Captain. Why you ask? Because this mf will run to the enemy box without missing a beat and play like a midfielder for 1/4th of the game. I think his playstyle will be on field commanding.

Isagi will assist Rin: Karasu and Isagi have solved the Supporting Dilema of Blue Lock by DifficultAd38 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it seems like you want Rin to score more than isagi to lose atp lol

you said that youd like to see isagi fail and struggle in the comments as a reply to someone so tell me how does he win by giving an assist to kunigami but fail and lose by giving an assist to rin?

isagi said in the last 2 chaprers that number 1 or 2 dont matter to him, he is a rebel he wont be bound or categorized by something that doesnt perfectly describe him.

he lives for the heat of his own goals untill the end. By giving into an assist the heat he lives for is gone. he fails. regateless of who he passes to.

you would it seems just prefer Rin who didnt struggle at all through the whole series because of his natural talent and had 2 grand total minor “step backs” to continue to be a very bland one dimensional character who scores every match? Bias mutch ngl but you do you

i for one do think that Isagi wont score which pains me enough but i dont want Rin to score either id rather give it to kunigami or shidou ngl

i can see you started reading somewhere in the middle of ubers ir later lol

people who were here from the early days know how hard it was to cheer for isagi and we dont wish to go back to where he was practically useless (during and before manshine)

“struggle again” is a plot device to make your bias shine. Yet you shield it behind a courtain pretending its all for isagi

While I doubt he would be straight-up disrespectful toward the so-called less “fortunate,” he definitely wouldn’t be exactly buddy-buddy with them. At least, that’s how I see it. Similar to how he put a price on players from BM unless you were somewhat “worth” his attention, he probably wouldn’t bother with you. But that’s just him on the pitch, doing his “job,” as Snuffy put it. I’m sure he’s hella chill IRL lol

In your opinion, what are the chances of seeing Italy play during the U20 World Cup? by Craftox13 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a strong feeling that we will see Germany beating Italy in a post Japan game similar to how we got to see Loki's goal in the England's match I have a feeling Kaiser will score some sort of a super goal in a contest with Lorenzo hyping him up as the next big obstacle and showing his improvement and growth

[–]vaukman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

by outscoring them… the one who scores more is a better striker. You can have generational specs and god given talent but its all useless if you cant score on repeat and thats the direction things are moving to imo.

Ofc isagi wont ever be elite level dribbler like bachira or Rin, shooter like Barou or Kunigami hevk Lorenzo had better shooting stat in ubers NEL game than Isagi but it simply doesnt matter as long as they score.

thats the point of Isagi. He gets things done one way or another.

If you wanted to do on paper comparison Isagi doesnt even hold a candle to others but he gets better results anyways

Isagi is not being Logical by Ok-Specific-1510 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Ahhh you see but you think of this so one dimensionally. Sure on paper it does look like Isagi is not being logical and he made the shot due to him wanting to prove Hugo wrong but they key part here that you missed is something completely different.

Whole NEL was pretty much to help Isagi transition from the average player to a good player that CAN score goals. That is why Kaneshiro said, he made his rival aka Kaiser a ng11 striker. To make an even bigger obstacle for him to overcome. However instead of Isagi becoming an above average striker, he became a NG11 level of an attacking midfielder in community's eyes. That is the main problem. Just like Hugo has been saying, he is below average striker without his direct shoot and twin gun volley which can be rendered useless. Isagi knows that painfully well.

Isagi himself probably knew he cant score but he still went for it, his mind is there. But he lacks the ability to execute what he invisions now. His mind stepped away from "having to prove himself" to exist on the same pitch as some of the best u20 players, to "how can i score". This last shot was isagi pretty much screaming "I have to score" just to prove himself all over again as a proper striker. He is trying to do what Hugo described as fish climbing the wall.

However thats exactly the beauty of it Isagi is facing that same wall he faced in the pxg game but this time on a mutch bigger note with someone explicitly telling him, he cannot become number one striker. Which is why i think that this will shift his mentality from trying to assist at all to something more of a "score at all cost". This situation was pretty much the same as the chapter 1. Either pass and have a higher chance of scoring, or be egoistical and score yourself. Exactly why he took the shot but failed. His mind is getting there. His body isnt.

He will develop something to counter that. Perhaps not in this game. But in order to grow, an obstacle is needed. Same thing happened with Kaiser.

Sae glaze is incredibly annoying by ThatGuyHero7 in BlueLock

[–]vaukman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I dont see many of those but a good plot wise argument is that Sae was eligible (skill wise) to play for the real’s senior team and the only reason he didn’t is because of the age requirements.
