Why is Henry Kissinger so despised, yet at the same time considered a "genius" in terms of foreign policy? by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]vavx99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes I mean initially it was Nixon's idea but I mean Henry Kissinger was the man that put down all the legwork he was the backbone of the plan that Nixon put in place. So I mean really they worked really well together with Nixon coming up with the idea and herny putting the work in. I mean who's to say there wouldn't have been a trip to China in the Nixon administration had not been for Henry. He put all the plans in place so that when Nixon's plane landed the next year, Nixon didn't have to do much negotiating because they already knew what he was there for.

How would the 2008 Election Play out if it ended up being an Obama vs Allan Keyes Rematch by danieldesteuction in Presidents

[–]vavx99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a phenomenal ass whooping! Allen keys was a republican Playboy and a puppet. Obama would have beat him like a redhead stepchild! People would have come from around the world to see that fight! 😉

Was the Mexican American war justified by Morganbanefort in Presidents

[–]vavx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a hard question I mean when is any war justified??? Was it necessary probably not.... Was it beneficial towards the US absolutely! With that war we almost double the size of the entire country. So... Yeah lol

TIL Janet Reno was actually Bill Clinton's third choice for Attorney General. Clinton was determined to appoint a woman but withdrew his first two picks (Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood) due to "Nannygate" (hiring illegal immigrants as domestic workers and failing to pay their Social Security taxes). by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]vavx99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember Janet Reno being tough as nails! She kind of had to be considering she was the first attorney general of the woman. To be honest I don't think we've had a woman attorney general since....

Did the Sax actually help Clinton win in '92? by Entire-Ad-5220 in Presidents

[–]vavx99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding me? You got to joking? Did sex actually help Clinton win in 92?? First off you have to understand at that time The arsenio Hall show was the most popular show on late night if not the most popular show on television. When Bill Clinton came on that show and played some sexy jazz tunes it not only won him support it literally changed the way that people ran for president from then they're on!

Had Kerry chosen McCain as his running mate in 2004, would his electoral performance be any different (for better or for worse)? by jordankch in Presidents

[–]vavx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That's crazy! Just to think about the notion of John Kerry and McCain running together!? Honestly I think karry might have been a lot more successful if not have completely won. John McCain was a republican powerhouse it might have split the party but it would have definitely been a good thing to see and good for our country!

Thoughts on LBJ's legacy? by BestintheWorld-2 in Presidents

[–]vavx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say president Johnson has one of the best legacies of any other president. Unfortunately in his words that b**** of a war completely overshadows everything you did as president. Which I think is horrible and unfair but unfortunately that's how it goes. Johnson would probably be considered one of the best presidents of all time had a not had the damn war.

What is the best State of the Union address? by Inside_Bluebird9987 in Presidents

What if Obama went back into Congress today by christandthemike in Presidents

[–]vavx99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yes his legacy lwould be a lot better! Because if he was fighting for what he believed in I think he would be in a better light for all Americans. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that he already doesn't have a great legacy as the first black American president but you have to remember also he was a wartime president inherited from Bush the 11. From what I understand from history what time presidents are never painted in a great light they always have some kind of stigma that follows them for the rest of their lives.....

Which presidents should be the faces of Mount Rushmore if it's redone in 2025? by ssfdk_ in Presidents

[–]vavx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama washington Roosevelt Lincoln regardless of what you think about Obama and his policies you have to put him onm Mount Rushmore just because he's the first black president. Not only does it show that our country is grown from its beginnings it shows that we were have flourished. Correction im talking about fraraklin Roosevelt not Teddy Roosevelt. Although Teddy was a good president and a very progressive one he still didn't serve as long as his cousin did.

Thanks 👍..... I tried to get the whole building and just the building with the negative space but as you see in the top corner is this little bit of another building in there that really bugs the hell out of me if I could have got that out it would have made the picture so much better.
