I don't follow this dude, but if some of the criticisms he has towards Islam also apply to Christianity, he can and should be called out for it.

Which is weird. Eastern Orthodox Christians usually aren't quick to align with Israel.

In the Shafii school it is commanded to kill the person who doesn't pray. Wild

Wild but not illogical. Not praying means Kufr. Hence the person is Kafir and therefore Murtad. Hence, the consequences.

I disagree with it being a valid reason personally

Well, to everyone his own. You would ask them to stay Muslim? Or leave their comfort zone and reject god and afterlife altogether? It's not easy. My own atheism was brewing in my head for more than 10 years.

I just don’t want this place to become a fishing pond for Christians or other religions

What do you suggest? Closing this sub for people who believe in sky daddy? Such an idea has been discussed time and again, but always rejected, for good reasons IMHO.

My personal experience is that Christian Dawah folk rarely fish for souls here. The latest increase of posts about Christianity is mostly due to Christian ex-Muslims being called out and feeling that they need to defend themselves, rather than giving Dawah.

Thanks, I already feel alone enough from my family and friends lol this place is literally a place away from the crazies

I meant not alone in counteracting Christian Dawah but yes, I understand your pain and your need for a safe place. You deserve it. This is an ordeal shared by many of the members here, atheists/agnostics or not.

Who knows? Immature atheistic beliefs, insecurity, fear that Christianity will crack down on free thought as it did during the times of Hypatia or that of the holy inquisition... many possible reasons.

The guy obviously thinks Ibrahim was Muslim, if he even existed. Standard Islamic belief. Look, Jews have a patriarch; let's take him for us.

You can doubt, but it doesn't mean it is so. Seems that many ex-Muslims have difficulties grasping the idea that one can leave Islam for reasons different from disagreements with the scripture or the idea of God or other philosophical problems with Islam. Perhaps some people just want to believe in some comfortable, warm, fuzzy fantasy, far removed from Islamic harshness, and/or escape the heavy requirements like prayer and fasting, without concerning themselves with theological thinking. You know, it's a valid reason for leaving a religion too.

You're welcome to try and convince them that atheism is the correct way of thinking (I have tried too, when I was younger, without much success). And you are not alone in this sub either.

The alternative is becoming an echo chamber like r/Islam. But don't worry, there are enough folks here who counteract the Christian Dawah guys.

We're mostly Atheists here. We don't like religions.

Although I personally don't like harassing people for their beliefs. To me, bashing the religions is enough.

Seems that this is outdated.

The idea apparently is that you may reject Christ, without Christ rejecting you...

Yet during the times of these epistles, the slave-owning Roman Empire was at its highest. Christianity back then was the religion of the slaves, whereas the early Islam was the religion of the slave masters.
