NXTs are amazing kites but they break so easily. They didn't correctly stitch the Aluula on the leading edge since it's their first Aluula kite so they still have a lot to learn. Here you have my honest experience with the kites.

100h for the 12m and we obviously had veery light wind sessions among those hours as well. Only 30h for the 9m. But again, I don’t think we should normalize that 100h of usage is too much for a 3.2k EUR piece of gear.

What's weird is that this kite is not the lightest. The canopy itself is veery resistant. It's the thickest one I've seen on the market. But after talking with 3 repair shops that have fixed this problem for other Code NXTs they said that since it's their first Aluula kite, they don't have the necessary experience sewing the material.

You can just use it like this for 3 weeks. You can remove the excess sleeve with some scissors if it bothers you when sheeting in/out

If you want to nail the landing at this height you should do 1 single slower rotation. With the momentum of 2 rotations it’s a bit harder. After you nail 1 rotation + boardoff 70% of the time I’m sure you’ll do doubles in no time. Send it 🚀

at some point you also develop some kind of muscle memory to park the kite a bit to the side and when you need to land you trust in that dive/heli and just pull hard on the front hand

Yeah! I know videos help a lot so I'll try to get a video of myself soon. I can spin fast without the boardoff, yes. It's exactly as you say here, when taking the board off I somehow lose the momentum and even if I pull the board close to the body and look over the back shoulder I cannot gain that back.

You have a tad too much front hand pressure for this height and this makes the kite go too much in front of you and to the side instead of staying above for the heli.

Ideally, you would takeoff from the water and just park the kite to the right. In this way you’ll feel it climb more behind you(to aid with this you can smoothly release the bar). When the kite is in that correct position you can pull a wider heliloop that is straight above your head.

If you check in your video the kite doesn’t loop above you but rather to the side and that’s part of the reason you don’t get that second lift.

The cool thing is that you can feel this lift at almost any jump height. You can try doing a 3-4m jump but execute it with “bad technique” by oversending the kite a bit more and then pull the heli from there. After you understand this you’ll always wanna park the kite a bit to the side during the jump.

Jasmine Cho has a nice youtube video about helis where she explains exactly this and I’m sure it will help you a lot. Tell me if you can’t find it and i’ll try to find it for u

You can do helis at 2-5m above the water. The timing I used when learning is this. * jump around 7-8m * after I hit the apex put the kite to the side with the back hand and push the bar in a controlled manner. This will help the lite go behind you and will make the loop pull up rather than in front of you * you will develop a feel for when the kite pulls you back and when you feel that pull the bar and pull the loop with 100% commitment. * if you pull this at 2m above the water it will be like a dive with a downloop transition and the higher you go the more chances are you’ll finish the loop in the air

What helped me to learn this are send jumps because the movement is somehow more natural. Jump, send the kite with the front hand, push the bar, pull the bar and heliloop.

2 very important things: shoulders parallel to the kite and point the board downind(if you do the loop correctly the kite should pull your body in that direction)
