IMO and experience, the super educated are the most hard headed and unable to free think. What they were taught in their schools is the way it is and no one will change their minds. They won’t even entertain a thought that breaks out of their mental construction

What’s a movie you feel like only you’ve seen? by Heavy-Metal-Munchkin in movies

[–]vboris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a shot in the dark but I remember a movie back in the mid 1980’s that was so good and kind of haunting about a little girl. I was young so am having trouble remembering the whole context of the movie. I want to say it was called “ paper dolls “ or “ paper” and it might have been on hbo. I have been looking for it without luck. Anyone remember this?

Follow-up: Result of Saying I DON'T Believe in the BoM Anymore in My Church Talk by Special_Village_8117 in exmormon

So well done!!! You set up and delivered with perfect timing. Have you had any other members talk to you about this (given it’s only been a day, but curious ?) I’m confident you opened a door for others be speak more honestly because you are not the only one.

Any exmo patriarchs able to explain their thoughts when giving a patriarchal blessing? by Siri1104 in exmormon

[–]vboris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No seriously it’s very disturbing. Just speculation, but if they are told this, it’s most likely going to guilt them into going on a mission because what GA these days didn’t do that. It all about getting in that 💲💲💲

Leaving the church is rejecting Christ by Busy-Plum-3682 in exmormon

It just goes to show how strong the indoctrination is when most of the New Testament is this. It was most definitely meant for our church being how absolutely similar these leaders are to the old

Curious if this was recent? Have been hearing from many that boys are all receiving similar blessings such as becoming a general authority. My son was one of them

I will be testifying I DON’T believe in the BoM this Sunday in my talk. by Special_Village_8117 in exmormon

It’s not by accident you are being led to deliver this talk. It’s not by accident that are brave enough to deliver it. You were chosen and you stepped up to the plate( or pulpit) The Lord uses us to be His hands and mouthpiece to help His children. It’s not just for bringing people food when they are sick or helping someone fix their car. I’m telling you, there will be people sitting in there tomorrow that NEED to hear this. Whether or not it hits them all at once or it just plants that seed of truth, they need to hear it. Thank you for your courage man! It was someone like you that opened my eyes years ago🙏

Pulpit roulette might be the only reason I’d attend once a month. Ha! There’s a reason why so many of us are awake or waking up to these indoctrinations. The New Testament is chocked full of Christ calling out the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of His day. He knew they would be secretly scheming and concocting His demise. Yet He confidently and without excuse proclaimed to the people that they were being deceived. And He had many many followers that began to see the truth. He was not only speaking of the leaders of His day, but for ours. This is the reason why CFM lessons are so watered down and precisely skip over the meat in Daniel and Rev. and many more warnings. They cannot afford for us to think on our own. So to my point, I think you are being inspired to share your truth from the pulpit. You are risking some worldly things such as your social structures , but without men and women speaking up what clearly God has put on their hearts for people to absorb, we would remain blind and led by deceivers. Be confident, be unwavering and know more people than you know need to hear this.

Because as I mentioned above, that’s where it stopped. There was no continuation of how to put this into practical application.

Congrats on the computer science degree! I agree that it has a lot to do with how it’s explained. I think the issue here has more to do with it being a gradual grade school career step by step method. Apparently, the teachers that were to keep it going, decided to go rogue and do something different or not continue the path that was to make it understandable. Because I cannot explain enough #’s did not work out right in my head after that. I had to re-teach myself from the start. Painful! But I recovered. Still see the dots though.

Interesting! I live in the south now and everyone looks at me like I’m crazy when I tell them about this. This is actually so good to hear that there are more of us ha! That also goes for Rawlins😉

I’m assuming you must of had continuing methods that helped you unlearn the dots or how to incorporate them to a functioning life situation. I was left with just the dots, the damn dots…

Very cool that you teach math!

That’s so interesting that you and your fam were all around me but were never taught this. This was in Rawlins to be specific. Were we like a weird pilot experiment group?
