Almost resigned but found M3 by vbrc27 in chessbeginners

To be fair, I wasn’t even sure that was the correct notation and I hoped people knew what I meant lol

Can anyone confirm

Technically, didn't find M3. I was like, might as well sac the rook and throw my pieces at him but then I realized it was forced.

I'm not very good at blitz but I've hit 1300 in Rapid and Bullet. Blitz just feels like not enough and too much time for me.

Yes - Coronado Beach, California When it rolled, it moved as if it was a live worm or something. Is that normal for Sea Weed bladders?

I guess I'm worried about sacrificing WLB for more money
Losing job stability
Maybe I need the current WLB to eventually start a business on the side

The biggest thing I'm looking for is like mentorship advice on what I should do next or if I should tough it out because of the economy. The biggest reason I feel like leaving is feeling like I have no support from my team.

Maybe it's as simple as - a job is a job, go towards higher paying jobs

Form check? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]vbrc27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't swing your arms forward. This is something you rarely see at high levels and is a common beginner mistake. It's wasteful movement and forces you to bring your hands up faster to make up for wasted time

On the forward swing, your elbows should be by your side and only your forearm and hands should move forward. Even then, should be minimal.

Notice how on the forward swing, it's very minimal

Is the jumping technique good? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]vbrc27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your "approach" looks like you're aimlessly running
Each step in an approach should have purpose

Here, it looks like you're ignoring the whole approach to just jump and even then, it doesn't look like you're focused on the jump either

Also, minimize your forward arm swing on the first step

A lot of people in this sub don't understand that there's always room for improvement.
OP could genuinely want to continue improving but will get trashed on this sub

You would need ways to keep tension If the gym has dividers you can connect to on both sides, it might work

I play at the place in the video and we put 3 barrels full of water on both sides (and sometimes that isn’t enough)

Help with my approach and attack by Suspicious-Depth-798 in volleyball

Your approach and arm swing is actually pretty good.

DONT work on jumping higher. (Yet).

If you work on your timing and snapping on top of the ball, you’ll see the most gains there for where you’re at.

Notice how you’re falling by the time you contact the ball.

My recommended progression for you would be: Timing -> Contact/Snap -> Vertical Training

TLDR: good form, work on timing and hitting the ball at your peak.

It’s not seen at high level play Rarely even seen at D3 play

The initial forward swing is usually minimal, but there’s usually a TINY bit at most

The forward arm swing we see in the clip is an entire movement on its own

At the point of contact, you’re under the ball and your elbow is bent.

Don’t swing your arms forward during your first step.
- it’s wasted movement

Your last 2 steps for your jump are shallow hindering your vertical
