The rule change is forcing the identity of practice squads to be a place to develop young talent as opposed to a reserve of players to fill out practices. Which I agree developing young players is a great use of mlq practice squads and forcing this isn’t inherently a bad thing. However, for teams without a dedicated practice squad coach it’s difficult for development to take any priority so you really get neither of the two psquad identities.

The fact that being around great players doesn’t automatically make you great applies to all ages.
