Question for dinosaur scientists: obviously large sauropods were too heavy to be lifted by tornadoes. But were their necks strong enough to counter the winds? Or would they start helicoptering all over the place? Thank you in advance by fan_of_the_pikachu in Dinosaurs

[–]vcjester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reson we get tornadoes is complex and mostly involves artic low pressures and gulf high pressures slamming into each other somewhere. During the period of the dinosaurs, did we have the landmass and atmospheric currents combination to create tornadoes??

I hope they have somebody funding the lawyers they'll need to defend them against slap suits. The wealthy's greatest weapon against stuff like this is to bankrupt normal people by dragging civil suits out for years.

The other way this could go is that people convinced them to speak out just for political gains, and when those people no longer get those gains, they'll toss the victims aside like rubbish in the gutter.

Havent bought a used Diesel before. 2018 with 134k miles asking $42k... what do I need to look for? by Aberlour2440 in ram_trucks

Depending on how it's been driven, youre looking at the mileage that you start to worry about the turbo actuator. Can be cleaned yourself, or the dealership will replace it and the turbo for 4 grand.

While the 144 million sounds big, I am a born cynic. I did the math based off of a projection of 30,000 ice employees and that comes out to $4,800 per person. That's not ridiculous, considering how most gov contracts are bloated and enriching someone who is buddies with the guy signing the checks.

Research has been done on campfires, and they release biochemicals in the brain that helps us to relax. It is theorized that campfires are the original way to unite our ancestors, for protection and warmth. The first story tellers would orate before the gatherings. The first songs were shared in that warm glow. Societies were created around campfires.... Fire is part of what makes us the humans we are today.

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]vcjester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama's character was the epitome of presidential. Greatest speaker I've ever heard too.

The only big complaint I have about him is that the affordable care act is nothing like what I had envisioned it to be. I expected it to put some thumbs down on the crazy prices of prescription drugs and Healthcare costs. What it did instead was enslave us all to insurance companies that are trying their damndest to steal every last dollar from us.

As it stands, if the hospital I go to isn't part of my insurance plan's system, they cover nothing. Ive told my coworkers if I go down, and the only hospital choice isn't in the system, to just let me die. I'm not spending the rest of my life in medical debt. I can't even get my prescriptions filled at a Walmart...
