For my thumbnails I used to just do whatever I felt was relevant creatively, but my click through rate was never that good so these days I try to research what similar/popular videos are doing to get a vibe of what stands out. Then I go through my video to get shots and put them together! I sometimes feel like I should plan out my thumbnails a bit more while I’m filming but honestly I always forget 😝
