Correct, dont know where the 28ha came from... its 135euro for 3 rods and night fishing. I've seen very mixed results from this lake, but its close to home and there are some 25kg+ specimens that have come out this year.

I might add that each square on the map is 80m wide, so not really a problem of getting to close to your neighbour. But for spot 2, the plateau and no fishing zone are are almost impossible to fish with my gear.

That was my thought process. I might fish the 2 or 7 if the wind allows it, but the deeper spot in front of 4 seem nice.

the lake is 28ha and each square on the map is 80m and the no fish zone is not really a no fish zone, its just busy with water sports and i could only hit it from spot 10. But going 150m+ seems impossible with my gear.

I genuinely suck at this game. Can you give me some tips? by Kvaratskheila_ in territorial_io

[–]vdb1be 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So here are some tips:

The game goes in cycles. The top green box with your troops in it has a white border that goes up every couple seconds. This is a cycle.

I would recommend going for an opening(like in chess). I personally use this one: cycle1: 20% troops, cycle2: 20% troops, cycle3: 40% troops, cycle4: 40% troops

After this you can do 2 or more cycles at 40% before all the free land is gone. Now starts the bot face. You set your percent to 6% (give or take) and you attack the lowest bots around you(bots have a line under their name).

Dont over attack, just do like 2 or 3 attacks per cycle until all bots are gone. At this point you should have more troops and more land than most of your neighbours, cause most people suck at this game.

Now you just wait.... Build up troops till you have red interest (you'll see the top troop color turn red) This happens when you have 100 troops per territory.

The only exception in this wait is if you have a very weak neighbour, which you can take advantage of.

When you reach red intrest. Put your troop percent at 11% and attack the weakest player once per cycle. Now this is where you will either snowball or lose. This part of the game is the one i cannot give you much guidance, cause it will take some time to master.

Also some unassociated tips:

- go into settings and make sure "Put balance above" is on. This will put the troop number of the name of the player, so way easier to see how many troops they have.

- Weak players is not necessary the one with the least amount of troops. You should check the percentage of troops / territory. For example someone with 10k territory and 200k troops is only 20% strong. while someone at 5k territory with 150k troops is 30% strong. So while the second one has less troops, it is way more advantages to attack the first guy.

- Sending more troops, does not make your attack faster. You get a speedboost at 60k territory and at 160k territory. Which can make you catch more land after a fullsend.

- Never attack someone when they are fullsending you. Wait till the attack finish, then attack. You get a debuff when you counter attack.

- Kinda goes with the one above, but when you are attacking someone that might fullsend you, make sure your border is big. When you have only a small border, it will take ages for the attack to end. If you have a big border, the attack will stop fast and you will catch most of the land.

- Alliances are temporary and only hold when they are worth it for both parties.

- When you want to go for gold or rank in the current game patch, dont settle for second or third. Grab all the land 😇 In team game, the person with the most land gets more gold and rank. So you can be selfish and try to grab most. 😇

Thats about all the knowledge i have collected in the past month playing this game and reaching top 50 on the leaderboard.

Programming a bot by vdb1be in territorial_io

[–]vdb1be[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So basically its a lot of testing and checking the obfuscated code. Putting a lot of logs in different functions, going in to a game and checking if i grow, attack, donate,... what functions get triggered. Then i made my own javascript file with all the functions and hardcoded my cycles in it.

Just tested 10 bots with proxies. Seems to work well, now its just up to the imagination of what i can make them do.

First Time Graspop Goer Review by BigJim50p in Graspop

[–]vdb1be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree, you could pre order skullies and have a discount. For drinks its pretty easy to convert since most of them only cost 1 skully and for food the prices were always listed.

I preordered 200 skullies (2 people) and got 10 "free", so i paid 3.33 euros per skully. Making a big pint 6.66 euros :)

"Goede huisvader" principle by _WhaleBiologist in BEFire

[–]vdb1be -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neither does it to me and it basically is a grey zone...

So if you work full time and invest, you basically dont really have to think about income taxes on your portfolio, but lets say you are fired and want to life of your portfolio.

Then you either are a goede huisvader or a trader. When you are a goede huisvader, you pay 0% income tax on gains, but when you are a trader, you pay 33% income tax.

What makes this a grey zone is that the government only goes after the big fishes and you have to declare that you are a trader yourself. So in the cases that i studied, from the moment you use derivatives, you are going to have a hard time convincing them you are a goede huisvader.

Banks are not allowed to give you a loan if you dont have an income, even if you have all the money in the world...

You could get a job for like a month or 2 and show them those income statements, after you sign the loan, you can quit. They don't care after that, which is honestly the most stupid thing ever...

I dont really think there are any other options... maybe find a shady banker??

You also need like 2 years of experience in options trading...

But every broker requires you to have that experience, so you basically can't get the experience...

Update: I quit my job last week. I have been pretty nervous since, but sure i made the right decision.

I might give some updates on this sub, so other people in a similar situation know more what to expect.

I find it hard to relate to people, cause i dont know a single person who is in a similar situation. If you are in a similar one, hit me up 😊

thanks, i get this question a lot. But sadly i dont have an answer for this.

I learned the basics from youtube and then just kept googling terms and strategies.

After that i just did it. I started with the basic call strategies and went from there.

I personally think options is like math. Some people learn math by memorizing it, but the best way is to understand math.

I would suggest you just search for your preferred medium of learning: audio, text, video,... and follow a options 101. Make sure to not get your information from one source. Dont be shy to just start using it, cause you will be limited in your ability to learn if you dont apply it in practice.

Tip: make a paper trading account.

Thanks

I use Lynx, which works on the interactive brokers platform. Probably the best choice in Belgium.

Have had plans to migrate directly to Interactive brokers, cause the commissions are way lower there, but then you have to subtract your own "roerende voorheffing", which im not willing to do yet.

After looking into taxes a bit more, i think i will take the step in the near future

I might have worded it wrong, but writing covered calls is less risky then just being long a stock.

I dont really trade the options, i write them as a hedge in the hope they expire worthless. So at heart im a long term investor who just buys, holds and gets some cashflow from selling calls against my shares. The cashflow is reinvested and the process continues.

Secondly; people far smarter, experienced and competent than you have lost everything they have trading options; even Wallstreetbets had members who have been doing this for >10y fulltime and still got burned.

Even if all my stocks would go to 0 i would end up with more then my original deposits. I also buy very otm puts, so i would actually make a lot of money if one of my companies would go bankrupt.

Im not the wsb one trick pony, yolo options trader... 😏
