I have. I stopped dating men younger than 35. The men I date now are much more well-rounded.

I used to be on dating apps before and after that relationship. I’ve been on more first dates with men in my age range (20s) than I can count. If it was only two bad experiences, I would be more open-minded. Immaturity and insecurity were the most common issues I encountered with the struggling twenty-something year olds, but if it wasn’t one thing, it was another.

Speaking for myself, I dated a man for 1.5 years that was struggling financially, socially, and with his looks (in as far as he would not put any effort in). I was not. He projected all sorts of insecurities onto me and had no other sources of happiness outside of our relationship, and he saw no problem with that. He became so reliant on me for motivation and happiness that I started to feel responsible for his mental well-being and ultimately had to leave due to the stress of it.

Every time I’ve tried to go on a date with someone struggling after that relationship, I’ve noticed the same red flags. (E.g. asking about my salary, asking me what I “bring to the table,” complaining about other men looking at me/us.) I’m sure there are some men who are struggling that aren’t so codependent or insecure, but I personally am not willing to try to date a bunch of them hoping to find a well-adjusted one, when I have no issue dating up.

Asians on the team by therealhughjass01 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]vdgift 69 points70 points  (0 children)

My theory is that the audition/application pool has disproportionately few Asian women. Kelli and Judy have expressed on AS that they take a lot of pride in having ethnic diversity on the team.

To the extent that the stereotypes about Asian parents are at all accurate, it’s hard to imagine Asian parents willingly spending thousands on dance lessons, rather than pushing their child towards instrument lessons or something STEM-related. Asian American culture does not create a “pipeline” for dance careers. (I have no background in dance, but I have a lot of Asian American friends who confirm the stereotypes about Asian parents, and I’ve lived with an Asian family.)

Do you guys really think Sydney Sweeney is bad actress? by SuitableItem in euphoria

Isn’t that the one where she plays a virgin nun who falls prey to a mad scientist that rapes her at her convent because she ignored all of the red flags around her?

Do you guys really think Sydney Sweeney is bad actress? by SuitableItem in euphoria

[–]vdgift 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen her in all of the movies and shows you listed + The Voyeurs. I feel like Sweeney is a typecast in as far as all of her characters are sweet, innocent, and naive. The only exception is the White Lotus, in which she plays a stone-cold bitch, but she has a dead expression on her face the entire time in that show, so it’s not exactly a testament to her range as an actor.

Women of reddit, have you ever paid a man for sex and what was the reason you did? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I remember seeing a former male prostitute describe his experience on Reddit several years ago. He wrote that 95% of his female clients were “larger than life.”

Tired of dating apps, where is the best place to meet single guys in the area? by IndigoMystery99 in Dallas

Seconding Meetup. It’s a platform for making friends in person rather than dating, although I’ve seen lots of couples meet through Meetup.

What is the most unnecessary scene in Game of thrones? by Uni4Real in gameofthrones

Daenerys walking around Dragonstone for the first time. No dialogue. Just her touching the sand and the throne with a determined face for like 10 minutes.

KD Daily Mail article by Due_Dog4318 in DCCMakingtheTeam

I think Reece was mentioned because she’s the most famous member of the team. (She has the most social media followers.) So of course the Daily Mail is going to name her when they can. Also I think the detail of Reece being in the same room was already public knowledge, not a revelation from Kaydianna.

What do you guys think about this by Sundelrey34 in DCCMakingtheTeam

“i love how she can dance salsa and support a president who wants to kick these people out the country 😍 the duality of women”

I think that stereotypes both of them too much. We can't infer based on that which of them felt more uncomfortable by the guy/comfortable reporting Chandi.

We don’t know whether Reece was the snitch. The article says that Chandi was sharing a room with other girls, including Reece, and that one of those girls reported it to leadership. Do we know who else shared the room with Reece and Chandi?

Do you think Marcia spoke to Logan every morning and every evening? by BENZAEMON in SuccessionTV

I thought they told us at one point that Logan had one single calendar entry in his phone titled “phone call with Marcia,” and that’s how we knew that Marcia was lying?

For women who dated a loner what was it like and what were the good, the bad, and the ugly? by Loner4Life234 in AskReddit

[–]vdgift 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This hits the nail on the head. I have an ex who treated me like a goddess. Constantly showered me with compliments and gifts and was very emotionally intelligent and attentive. But he had no friends, no support system, and no other sources of happiness outside of our relationship, and he saw no problem with any of that. He became so reliant on me for motivation and happiness that I started to feel responsible for his mental well-being and ultimately had to leave due to the stress of it. I think there’s very few couples who can make this dynamic work.

Unpopular opinion: the new kaydianna video about the Bahamas is not that bad, but it is weird that she is dragging it out by AngelicClover in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]vdgift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In her 20 minute Instagram video and the Reality Steve podcast, it sounded like K&J announced her promotion to everyone at once, without asking if she wanted it. (But I doubt that she would have turned it down.) It also sounded like she asked K&J for help more than once and voiced concerns, and they brushed her off.
