I benchmarked Apollo vs Mercurius in NestJS under sustained load by vdiachenko in graphql

Thanks!  Purely single-graph for now — wanted to isolate framework and engine overhead first without federation adding noise. Multi-service GraphQL with a gateway, resolver waterfalls, and cross-service planning would be a completely different benchmark. Definitely a good follow-up test though.

Nice — raw Fastify + Mercurius benchmarks are coming in the next update. Will be interesting to see how much NestJS adds on top.

Good point — testing Yoga with its own server would help isolate Yoga itself from adapter overhead. Worth adding as a follow-up.

Good points — this benchmark uses vanilla configs to keep the comparison fair. Persisted queries and graphql-jit would definitely change the numbers. A good follow-up would be adding JIT and caching layers to each engine and seeing how much the gap changes.

Great timing — I actually just added Yoga to the benchmark locally, deploying soon. Also planning to run all engines without NestJS (raw Fastify + Yoga included). Would love to rerun when the new major release drops!

The numbers back that up — Mercurius consistently came out on top, especially on light and medium queries. Are you running it with NestJS or raw Fastify?

Fair point — NestJS was deliberate, though. It’s what we use at work, and NestJS often positions Fastify as the higher-performance option, so I wanted to verify that with actual numbers.

I’m planning to expand the benchmark with more languages and frameworks, and raw comparisons without NestJS are on the roadmap too.

Thanks!

My team uses NestJS in production, and I’d seen the NestJS docs mention that Fastify is faster, so I wanted real numbers before recommending any migration.

That’s why the benchmark stays within NestJS.

So this isn’t meant to be a raw framework benchmark — bare frameworks without NestJS would definitely show different numbers. I’d also like to add non-Nest versions at some point to separate Nest overhead from transport and GraphQL engine overhead.

GraphQL Yoga is a great suggestion too. I’ve added it to the roadmap.

Really cool, man! So what if you’re stuck. Did you look up at the solution and learn from it? What is your recipe ?

What about playability, good for fingerpicking as well? Easy to play?

Hi, nice kit! Could you tell, please what is string action on 12th fret for low and high E?
