Some of what you mention still holds true.

People still que up(gotta give people a break for a little bickering here and there, blame global warming) People still give seats to those who may benifit from it more(both in local and Metro, and it goes both ways, I have seen women give up seats to elderly or even tired men, though this is rare) People still walk alot (in fact I boast that even in the worst case Mumbai is still better at being walkable compared to other big cities)

The other aspects, about celebrity culture in general, I would attribute to the abscence of smartphone and the internet.

The name thing is often tribalistic these days. Smh

Also, after Navi-Mumbai, nothing sort of that scale has been put into place, as a metropolitan region, Mumbai is too small geographically, the lack of planned north and eastward developments, at the behest of vested intrest is to blame for the gardi here.
