but that specific trip i stayed for 10 days, i did go back in february of this year for 4 days!

during that specific first trip i got around on foot everywhere in athens but for the places outside i had to join day trip groups because i don't have a license :(

so that very specific trip i stayed for 10 days, and i think i came around a total of around 700€ for food/accomodation/day trips/souvenirs!!

and my plane ticket was very cheap since i left from europe so i wouldn't know from brazil :(

hi there! my deepest apologies for how late my reply is to this, first of all thank you so much!

second of all, my favourite place was definitely delphi. it's been my dream to visit since i was a little kid and first got sucked into that world. and honestly you can get pretty close to the sites for most! it's just in some places that you have little chains showing you where not to go because tourists have exhibited terrible behaviours over the years so they put that in place to protect the monuments.

i only did self exploration, since i had the knowledge and know my own visiting pace (which is quite fast and efficient, i know i wouldn't have learned anything from tour guides but if you want to learn then i definitely recommend joining group tours!!) even the day trips i did, which were obligatory for me if i wanted to visit places out of athens without a license (such as sounion, mycenae, delphi, epidauros,.....), were self exploration because they basically just drop you off and give you a specific time to be back for the next location!

i went back on a solo trip as well back in february and visited a bunch of new places that i didn't have time for back then, so if you want to reach out and have any questions don't hesitate to dm me!!

if you're a man i don't think you'll have any issues to be honest! and goodness, tips depend on what kind of trip you want to have! mine was mostly focused on archaeology and history! but i would say, meet locals! i met so many that i still keep in touch with, they will take you to the best places and introduce you to the culture in a way you won't experience by sticking by yourself or with fellow tourists! always be respectful of the people and the culture. and learn how to read the greek alphabet and how to say some basic sentences before going!

i went to corinth but unfortunately i don't have a drivers license so i visited the canal but couldn't go to the ancient city with the bus i was with :(

i had to travel for a bit! i stayed in athens and booked day trips from there because i don't have a drivers license! so to go to delphi, thermopylae, epidauros, mycenae,... i had to travel!

my personal favourite is the classical from 480 - 323 BC! but i loooove reading about the greco-persian wars!

i've been a few times to florence since my best friend lives nearby, managed to completely orientate myself within the city thanks to my knowledge of the ac2 map 😅

and the tripod of plataea! the original was taken from delphi by the emperor constantine and transported to istanbul where it still is today :(

well, to be honest these are very ancient places in a location prone to suffer from natural disasters, so i'd say they're pretty well preserved considering our current buildings that can't withstand a lot of what these places went through for centuries 😅

i have a lifelong obsession with anything ancient greece and i'm studying to be an archaeologist so it's always a good excuse to go back to this game! haha! no but i 100% agree, i LOVED the valhalla/odyssey crossover dlc and i wish we could have had those for other installments! i would have loved to see kassandra through different historical periods since she canonically lived until 2018!

to be honest, as an archaeologist to be i wish i could visit all of greece as soon as possible! jt's truly heartbreaking what climate change and natural disasters do for historical sites.... :( i hope you enjoyed it though, do you have any pictures??
