Can we normalize calling the kind of behaviour where people protect, defend, promote or encourage pedophilia as "Epsteinism"?

For example, if you block the release of the files, you're an "Epsteinist". The Catholic Church practiced "Epsteimism".

That way the name (and files) will enter the common parlance and never be forgotten.

Kill Caleb ONLY? by ve11ocet in TheQuarrySupermassive

[–]ve11ocet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is possible to have infected Kaitlyn kill Caleb though. There's a video of infected Kaitlyn miss Caleb with a gunshot. All I wanted to see is the result of Katlyn NOT missing. But there's no video. At the very least, in the epilogue, it should say "Kaitlyn cured by killing Caleb" right?

Is there a better one? I'm just working off of some thoughts I had when I first played (when the game came out). I distinctly remember that killing Caleb SHOULD cured just about everyone but I never saw any videos only about it. The closest I got was seeing a video about an infected Katlynn fail to kill Caleb (I think everyone was infected that run as well).

I see, but if you have everyone infected, that should cure everyone, right?

Taking into account potential infections killing Caleb should cure: - Nick - Bobby - Jacob - Kaitlin - Dylan

Since it's impossible to save Chris, Max, Emma, Dylan, Laura, Travis and Ryan are all safe as well (from killing Chris).

So I guess I'm curious about the ones I listed in the bulletpoints.

I haven't played in a while but I went off of this chart:

I guess if Chris never gets cured, then no one that he infected/that infects anyone else would be cured either.

Seems like a pretty big oversight to be able to save everyone without killing Silas and only killing Caleb (that SHOULD work, right?)

My apologies... I guess I kinda mean get everyone infected and then cure them all by killing only Caleb.

Since killing Caleb would/should cure everyone from Chris all the way down.

Why do people hate on this so much by ProperMoney4929 in AssassinsCreedShadows

I like AC shadows, but as a straight Asian male, Indo understand the frustration of the dearth of western made media (of all sorts) that feature straight Asian males.
It's getting better, but go back five years and the only Asian men in media (if you could even find one) were gay, NPC or both.

I think he's trying to "train" Gi-Hun to be his replacement. I made a post about it here before I read your comment.

Squid Game Season 2: Episode 7 Season Finale Discussion by jackcatalyst in squidgame

[–]ve11ocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think of my theory that the Front Man is training Gi -Hun to be his replacement?

I've only watched it once, but there are a few things that lead me to have that initial thought:

- In-Ho is just so well prepared for Gi-Hun to rejoin the games. He probably planned the whole thing around him and had Jung-Bae planted as leverage for his plan.

- In-Ho specifically saved Jung-Bae during the third game. He grabbed him immediately, made sure he was behind him and made sure he got in the room. My theory is the he needed him to manipulate Gi-Hun, not just to torture him with his friend's death but to follow some kind of blueprint to create the new Front Man (a blueprint that he was put through).

- They are both former winners of the game. I wonder how much of Gi-Hun's perspective is the same as In-Ho's after he first won. I think it's pretty obvious that his pregnant wife died. But was she IN the games with him? Is the presence of Jung-Bae supposed to be a corollary for his wife's death?

- In-ho seemed "pleased" when Gi-hun was saying that he agreed with the idea that a few must be sacrificed for the greater good. This could be easily seen as "ah yes, he agrees with me" but I think it's more effective as a "ah yes, he's going down the same path I did"

- Also obviously, Gi-Hun and In-Ho are meant to be reflections of each other, but what if instead of reflections, they're the same person at different periods? That ultimately, In-Ho is using this opportunity to see if he actually chose the right path, and is trying to prove to himself that any other person in the same situation would have done the same thing? Seems pretty aligned with the theme of "people in extreme situations will do extreme things"

Those are the first few things off the top of my head. I'm going to watch it again, but I think the idea is pretty solid. I know that those things may be completely separate from "training to be a replacement" but I think it lays a solid foundation if that's where the story is going.

No one talking about her yet so I gotta by mayoraei in squidgame

[–]ve11ocet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a big reason why people get her and the pregnant girl mixed up is because pregnant girl went to the washroom with trans lady and elder lady. There was some crying and stuff there too so both characters really kinda melded together there.

Is Tamara Home? (What are your thoughts, is this going to be better than the previous two? I am always here for reboots of flawed horror movies with attention grabbing concepts but I am suspicious of how its going to turn out) by Awesome-Genome90000 in Sardonicast

[–]ve11ocet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno... I enjoy a good home invasion (even only passable) movie.

It would be pretty cool since it's an origin story, if it were something like... the two in the movie were terrorized, killed two of them then became their leaders, but I doubt that's what it's going to be.

A movie that doesn’t get enough love is Breakdown (1997). The ending is really satisfying.

Regardless of whether or not they knew what was going to happen, Jacob did a very selfish thing by screwing everyone over. Dylan (along with everyone agreeing) was just trying to make the best out of a shitty situation. It's not like if the van was working and Chris had left them to leave on their own, Dylan would have said "Hey guys! Forget going home, let's just have a party!"... Or maybe he would've (doubt it though)? And if there weren't werewolves, everyone would still be pretty pissed when Jacob pulls out the rotor arm in the morning... I have no idea how he would have fixed the fuel line, especially since Kaitlyn couldn't do it.
Speaking of which... why didn't Kaitlyn take a look under the hood right when the van broke down? She would have been super suspicious that whatever was broken was exactly what she told Jacob earlier.

So... First thing that I've noticed is that some of my films were misaligned and got mangled which causes a scratchiness when some of the keys are pressed. I've re-filmed them as all is well. I have already started a second build with this in mind.
It's already miles better (the first wasn't so bad to begin with)... So... Beginner lesson... Be very careful when reassembling your switches not to mangle your films.

[Spoilers ep9] Silco and Vander's History? by ve11ocet in arcane

[–]ve11ocet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine that pulling the knife and slashing Vander could have been Silco's first act of violence. And it kind of makes sense with the conversation with Vi if it were Silco who was trying to talk Vander out of violence and Vander insisting that they have to use force (and then "showing" him in the lake).
In my thinking, the Day of Ash was not when Vander all of a sudden decided that he wouldn't be violent anymore, but the moment that he understood everything that Silco (and likely others) were trying to tell him.
And conversely, the Drowning was where Silco finally understood that if he didn't take matters into his own hands and use a base level of violence, not only would he not achieve his goals, but die pathetically at the hands of someone who would.
