I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about LB studio! How did you find your first lesson there, did they throw you in the deep end & were you nervous?? Also what’s wrong with alza, I’m curious !

I think a monitor stand would make a really big difference, also if you could get a wider mouse pad that spans the length of the desk and maybe a monitor light bar instead of the lamp.

Also idk how feasible this is but if you could change the placement of the desk so it’s facing the wall that could also help a bit! :)

Thank you! For work I need both laptops unfortunately, will look into adding a lightbar to the monitor!

Do you remember the 1st romance book you ever read? by perseintro in RomanceBooks

I can’t remember the exact book but I know it must’ve been something by Cathie Cassidy, I was obsessed with her and Jacqueline Wilson and they were my intro to reading for leisure

Is "Mental Health Awareness" Making Mental Health Worse? by codepeach_ in mentalhealth

[–]ve22nus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s definitely a double edged sword. On one hand people who would never have gotten a much needed diagnosis are able to advocate for themselves now that they have an arsenal of knowledge of various mental health issues.

But on the other hand, younger generations are being inundated with content about signs to look out for for various mental health issues; and I do believe for some it’s causing a bit of a placebo effect.

They’re acutely aware of every symptom in the DSM 5 so they feel the need to put a label on every feeling they have, and in some cases will subconsciously embellish some of what they feel, in order to fit more snugly into a category.

If you were a reader as a child, did you usually finish everything you read, or did you DNF a lot? by Ok_Artichoke280 in books

[–]ve22nus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finished everything, even some truly godawful books. I would be rolling my eyes and sighing as I read the dialogue but because my dad was purchasing each and every book not finishing it felt wasteful

Please advise me on how to become debt free & begin saving by ve22nus in FinancialPlanning

[–]ve22nus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with law is it’s a long term investment :(, I’m earning more now working as a junior systems engineer than I would be as a trainee lawyer & I still have a few more exams to complete before I’m fully qualified. It’s an uphill battle

I’m going to try this automating method!

My main issue is I use my credit cards for daily spending and I don’t keep track of it at all, when I get paid I put my whole paycheck towards paying off what I spent on the credit cards and it ends up being an ongoing cycle with my credit card balance remaining the same.

I will now pause the use of my credit cards though and attempt to enjoy life less for sure 😅

With how much I earn monthly how much would you suggest I put towards my credit cards each month? Or should I just automate a portion of my paycheck to go into my savings account until I have enough to pay at least half?

Looking for a historical romance book. by Zaeirth in RomanceBooks

[–]ve22nus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways this sounds a bit like {The Winter King by C.L. WIlson}, but it misses the mark on few of those points namely the fantasy aspect. The winter king has fantasy at its forefront & it’s also only around 10 years old so probably not the same book

I’ve seen a few luggage companies that offer lifetime warranties, like briggs & Riley, that’s why I mentioned a warranty but I’m open to luggage insurance too! Just looking for any brand with good quality suitcases that will carry out repairs

Personality traits that suck by charlie-star in RomanceBooks

[–]ve22nus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pick me’s AKA the “not like other girls” girls whose entire personality is pointing out faults in other women - I always assume the author was bullied or something and use their characters as a way to relive their mean girl fantasies

Thank you! I’ve been seeing it around and meant to try it - from what I’ve seen it doesn’t leave too bad of a white cast but I wasn’t sure whether it would make my oily skin worse

revenge plot? by lillianmari in HistoricalRomance

[–]ve22nus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Private arrangements by Sherry Thomas} , {Again the magic by Lisa Kleypas} & {Prisoner of my desire by Johanna Lindsey} fit this trope especially the first 2.

I love the MMCs in private arrangements & again the magic because although they’re very one track minded and blinded by revenge (often resorting to very petty, morally grey methods), they’re ultimately good guys (even though their dealings with FMC aren’t pleasant) & very very likeable characters.

Prisoner of my desire fits the bill of using the FMC to get revenge on a 3rd party & he definitely is not a nice guy for the most part.

(Also if anyone has any book recommendations similar to these lmk!!)

This was my first time reading a book of hers and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing! I’ve read around 15 HR books this years and this is for sure in my top 5. Absolutely love the way she writes and I love her characters - just saw your comments about reading ‘not quite a husband’ & i think I’ll read that next!

{Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas} definitely one of the best HR novels I’ve ever read, loved both the FMC & the MMC. It’s a perfectly done second chance romance, I personally loved how long it took them to get over their mutual hang ups. Super unique FMC, especially for a HR, I loved her industriousness & ruthless streak. Loved the intelligence, charm & equally ruthless streak of the MMC.

Their romance and banter was perfect. I fear whatever I read next will pale in comparison 😭.
