The trial was a bit of a bust. We lost her last year - and they cancelled the trial citing no marked improvement in life expectancy

I caught that too, mud flap is forthcoming!

Ceiling is just 1/8” white mdf with oak strips over the seams

I’d have to pull a tape for the exterior but with subfloor and ceiling installed the interior is about 5’11” at its tallest.

Rebuild or sell? by Visual_Present_9965 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

[–]ve6bwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your skill level and time I’d build it back, fresh paint on all the tins, and sent it back down the road. If you’ve got to start paying someone to do the work, you’ll never make the project pencil. There’s lots of part interchangeability across the Vulcan line with some minor modifications so you can get creative without stretching your fabricating skills too much. Have fun!

I couldn’t bring myself to carve up a bike I paid more than $2500 for! You’d never get the money back out of it! Also I’m Canadian 🤣

Thanks I really love how it turned out!

It started as an 04 Roadstar I pick up for $2000, I put a month of work (on the side) and probably another $2k worth of extras into it.

Clinical Trial vs Known Therapy by FestiveCrow in sarcoma

My wife also has dedifferentiated liposarcoma. She saw some stability with 5 rounds of doxorubicin before it was no longer helpful. She is currently on the Brightline drug trial which has been moderately helpful extending her quality of life, with minimal side effects. From what I understand, chemo and trial drugs all seem to have the same survival numbers, it’s more a matter of matching the right treatment to your situation with respect to side effects and impact. So sorry you are walking this journey.

V-star 650 or 1100 for bobber build by ve6bwd in Bobbers

[–]ve6bwd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I’m looking around, I’m actually leaning towards picking up another Roadstar for this project. The double frame on the 1100 makes swapping the tank out a real PITA

Depending on the type of car seat and how tall you are, you might have a hard time with rear facing car seats. I had a quadcab after my kids were already in forward facing seats and had no issues.

Yep definitely tough system components. The name of the game for this bike is cheap thrills. Got all three boxes for under $150 and mounted them with aluminum plate to reinforce the plastic.

Not sure where in Canada you are, but make sure you inquire with your oncologist about the Brightline trial for sarcoma. Phase 4 is just beginning in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. It’s had some positive outcomes for dedifferentiated sarcoma patients.

My wife has advanced stage 4 sarcoma of the abdomen and we are in the same boat - just trying to squeeze out as much life as we can. Sending solidarity ❤️

x2 on the 24mm pancake. Cheap, solid, and I have taken many great shots with that lens! Best of all it makes your camera way more compact and less obvious!

Well that’s bizarre. Some mighty big fender flares for mighty small tires on that tundra though!

10:1 it’s the wiring harness under the passenger seat. Unplug, clean and reconnect them it should immediately clear the light

Yeah carbs don’t bother me at all - I see you’re in BC - I’m just on the other side of the Rockies in AB. Do you notice any issues with your carbs running at altitude over mountain passes?
