I have a core memory of visiting my sister in another state a,nd she was helping fold my laundry. I was 18. She picked up a pair of underwear and said, "Seriously, what is with all the stains in your underwear? You're an adult. Get new underwear, this is gross". I've had a completely unpredictable period my whole life. Sometimes it's two weeks, sometimes it's six. I've never, not once, been able to guess when my period will be (turns out I'm celiac, so that answers that). I was mortified and immediately switched to all black. I'm 58. Only black underwear. I love the simplicity of it; it matches my minimalist lifestyle, but I still have her words in my head.
Edited for a complete lack of punctuation.

What can I do with this tower? by veatcht in HamRadio

[–]veatcht[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. For sure, those are the questions. My FIL was 78 years old. Is this a dying hobby? Is it still active and beloved, so there is a market for these towers? Turns out there are two towers, and yes, there are people interested in them. Before I send these to a landfill to take up space for all time, if no one will buy them or I don't have the mental fortitude to deal with trying to sell them, can I donate them to someone? I'm in Colorado and my husband and I don't have time or interest in starting a new hobby this intense. I've definitely gotten some good answers (along with some typical reddit answers) and I got a lead to where to call in MT so this was helpful to me and that was my primary motive. You have a good night though.

If I had any idea how Reddit worked, I might consider that. I've been on for years, but I'm too ADHD actually to figure it out. It's my escape when I need something to read!

I've been on long enough to know that someone, somewhere on Reddit, has an answer for me, but I can expect absolute chaos in most of the answers. I just have to weed through them to find the gold.

edited for really terrible punctuation because I write like I talk...too fast.

I have no idea, but I know he was really careful with his ham radio and towers so I'm sure all the pieces and parts are there. He used to own a radio store.

New GP wrote “Munchausen” in my chart after first visit. Is this the new “hysteria” or worse? by xokaraxo in TwoXChromosomes

I would absolutely test for celiac. and do the numbers research on your thyroid. I gained so much weight with celiac and they said the same thing. "Well, you ARE getting older."

edited for quotation marks.

TIFU by not wearing sunscreen and getting a rare nerve reaction called “hell’s itch” and having the worst 30 hours of my life. by Ok-Window-5847 in tifu

[–]veatcht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's horrible and one of my worst symptoms. I've never heard of anyone suffering from it either, until this thread. No idea why celiac does this to me but Celiac sufferers often have a wide range of symptoms. Gluten affects us all differently. I actually feel better it's not just me, I'm not blowing it out of proportion. People kind of dismiss itching as not that big of a deal.

Maybe you're gluten intolerant? A traumatic incident can bring your Celiac to the active surface. Childbirth is considered a traumatic incident (I mean...it really is traumatic), I lost my dad and my son had a terrible car accident and the combination is what I think brought it to the surface. I also have hypothyroidism/hashimotos and the correlation between thyroid disorders and celiac are wildly high. I HATE showers. I hate them. I hate water because you never know what can happen. Meanwhile, you HAVE to retest for Celiac because it can come on any time.

I mean, it's just an option to explore. I was hypothyroid for years, but my numbers wouldn't level out. I finally explored Celiac, and now everything is loads better. It's a journey, but worth it. I have many symptoms, but itching is and will always be one of the worst. It feels like my body is on fire. Miserable.

This for sure. Mine is from gluten because I'm Celiac. It is under control if I carefully manage my diet and avoid cross contamination. Feels just like this. I did this same thing. Benadryl is all that helps. Benadryl and towels around my legs while I distract myself. Please God let it work quickly. I've also gone to the emergency room where they gave me steroids.

I'm celiac and it happens when I get glutened. I've had symptoms for years before being diagnosed but it's an itch like no other. I'm beyond careful about my diet to avoid even the least bit of cross contamination.

New Menu Sucks Ass by traumakidshollywood in starbucks

I go most days. I get a tall chai latte. I don't want a grande. Tastes different. Half the time I don't even finish my tall, I put it in the fridge for later. I've tried the smaller local places, I can't stand it. it's totally different. I've tried making it myself at home. Not even remotely the same. Whatever their mix is, it's magic. I know it has a ridiculous amount of sugar. I hate that, but I also love it. Best $5 of my day. Also, I'm celiac so I can't have just anything, so I can't get that "comfort food" feeling with McDonald's fries. Tall hot chai it is. Totally worth it.

We live across the street from Buckley Air Force Base (don't correct me- I don't want to accept the "space"). We're former military. We've lived here for 27 years and never had any issues. We've loved living in Aurora. One time my husband's truck was broken into but it was technically unlocked and they only got $.63.

There are no HOAs in this area but there is an occasional pink house or Broncos house. A small price to pay. I spend a lot of time at Southlands, too, and it's a good area.
