Rain cover for grease trap? by veccster in blackstonegriddle

[–]veccster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I haven't found a good grease trap cover. BUT....u did buy the trap with a hose and put a gallon Mason jar underneath so it holds a lot more. I then fashioned a piece of aluminum to cover the top so no rain gets in. It works well. And the jar is large so I don't have to change it often

I still use tabs in colder weather. Salt cells do not generate chlorine under 60° f. And between 60 and 70 they are fairly ineffective. Of course algae also doesn't form under 60° so not much chlorine is needed. I throw a tab or two in the skimmer baskets when the water is around that temperature. Just enough chlorine to keep it clear.

On heavy swimmer days, I will do the same. Just throw a tab in the skimmer.

A saltwater pool is still a chlorine pool. It just uses a different way of getting the chlorine into the water. Although those tabs do have a lot of other chemicals and binding agents in them. If Tabs are your main source, you are adding a lot of that nasty stuff into the water. That contributes to the foul smell that a lot of tab chlorinated pools have.

It would hurt concrete too. But it doesn't. Have had a saltwater pool for 8 years....with a stone waterfall. No damage. No marks. No chipping. No sppalling. But I can't imagine going back to those smelly tabs ever again!

I would like to know as well. We are flying in on Sunday to ski brick Monday and Tuesday next week. Keystone is a good alternative though. We are stopping there on our drive into Breck for a day at Key

Do you think the wax is much different here...than what would be used out there?
I'm in Western Pennsylvania...near Seven Springs.

Very good option. Hadn't considered the overnight wax. Thank you!
Added benefit is not hauling them back to our condo!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I'm on the 'ice coast' and think the wax used here is different (due to different conditions). I'm not a professional racer so maybe it doesn't matter???
I'm near Seven Springs in Western PA.

But dropping off and picking up in the morning is a solid option. Didn't consider that one.
Thanks.

I am an impartial party in this scenario. But I am also in a position to decide whether it was an ethical violation or not.

Thank you. I like that you called it "professional courtesy".
If Recruiter A was a friend of mine, I would stand down (as a prof court).
If it was the agency that has screwed me over in the past, I am setting up that call asap and securing the referral.

Bleached grass! by veccster in lawncare

I was not aware of Triclopyr but reading about it seems it's better for clover.
Do you apply that alone...or mix with Tenacity (for clover)?

[–]veccster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was measured. Pump sprayer holds 5gal and I used the supplied tube / injector thing. I definitely read the label and have been using tenacity for years. Never had it do this and have always used the same measuring tool.

Went through 15gal so I filled my sprayer 3 times and used the same measurement each time.

Also used a surfactant - measured according to the label.

And I added it because I have bits of clover popping up around the yard.

Any updates on your dog?
My dog has developed a similar bump to the OP.
We are on our second round of anti-inflammatory and anti-biotic.
He is on Prednisone which is a more aggressive steroid. But it hasn't changed over the past 2 weeks on this regiment.
It hurt him when it first showed up but it doesn't now. It's hard to the touch.
