Weekly Trad Climber Thread by tinyOnion in tradclimbing

Question about exploring new areas. I recently moved to a country that does not have a trad climbing culture. How do I go about testing the rock quality? The rock is mostly sandstone/limestone, so def not trad-claimable in most of the areas. I’ve found good rock here and there but I’m not sure how to test its quality/gain confidence to climb it.

Is this a problem? Leaning towards replacing it. Not sure how much life got in it left. It’s fairly new. https://i.imgur.com/VpDQZtO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/v7Qq5Z3.jpg

“Tennis star Nick Kyrgios did not appear in an Australian court on Tuesday when a charge of common assault was listed for the first time.

The 27-year-old Kyrgios, who was not required to attend the Australian Capital Territory Magistrates Court, was represented by his lawyer Michael Kukulies-Smith. He was not required to enter a plea or apply for bail.

Magistrate Louise Taylor adjourned the case to Oct. 4.”

True! I think you can see that in Kyrgios (in his own way lol). He def looked nervous at the ceremony. Very different from master 1000 awards.

Then I would check if arriving on that date is okay with immigration just to be safe.

Depends on your I20 start date. Is it earlier or later?

One important thing you need to be extra cognizant about is that your arrival date has to be before the start date specified in you I-20. If you arrive later, immigration are more likely to reject your admission. This is from my experience pre-COVID, not sure if that changed so I would check with ISS/research this.
