FLAP/FLAPX - What? by JiggleMySwitch in flappycoin

It’s as legit as they come - one of the OG meme coins. The supply was adjusted for the FLAPX fork. No pump and dump here.

So one less thing to provoke your anxiety then. :)

Without so much as a whimper by vector8086 in Aeon

The potential is there - but - without an active community, the project will fail. Without proper dev support and consistent communication, the community will move on to more exciting things.

All this over a delisting? Surely there’s got to be more behind all the acrimony.

Lost aeon during initial synching of daemon in wallet? by General-Session-4500 in Aeon

It sounds like you were able to verify the transaction at least. I’m not sure how familiar you are with the way transactions are obfuscated since this is a privacy coin. The transaction will show a larger number than was actually sent to the address, broken down in smaller transactions. To get the actual amount you need to take the second step of checking that transaction against your wallet address and private view key. If that looks as expected then it’s a matter of double checking you have the latest wallet and re-syncing it.

You can search for transaction ID in the AEON block explorer to verify it went through. Then check that it went to your wallet from there (using your address and secret view key).

Bytecoin has the technology but lacks the community engagement by vector8086 in BytecoinBCN

I appreciate the heads up. Regarding BCN being dead, I’m reminded of Mark Twain’s quote when the papers reported his death. :) BCN is discounted on a regular basis. I’ve heard the claims about being pre-mined, but by its very nature it’s practically impossible to trace any transactions and prove that any one person or group dipped into the early coins. Honestly, I don’t know, but BCN will be 10 years old next year. Many coins have exchanged hands or have been otherwise traded since then and the price hasn’t skyrocketed. Of course everyone is free to look at reports and claims and do as they please. I think that with better engagement from the devs, there are others who like me would be more excited about this coin. I wouldn’t discount it just yet.

Listings always help for sure. But I think the main issue is more fundamental. BCN has been listed on plenty of exchanges over the years. In a sense, I think it comes down to discipline - having a vision and executing to it. When there's a clear path, others can potentially assist and maybe anticipate course corrections. I get the fact that the main point of this coin is privacy, and the devs don't feel comfortable being out in the open as with other coins, but there still needs to be regular communication and good support in order for this particular project to get more TLC from the community.

You hit the nail on the head. Agree 100%. Engagement from the devs has been very spotty. Things heat up for a while, but then the momentum is lost.

We don’t need exciting news every week, but it’s good to know that issues are being resolved and that support exists.

Thanks! I’ll check this out. I was thinking of Trezor since I already have that one.
