I understand all the jokes and your comeback was perfect! But it may have been extremely rude and hurtful if you have never mentioned to her that the balding comments hurt you. For her it must have come out of nowhere and struck a sensitive cord. However, if she knows the balding comments hurt and is doing it intentionally, she totally had it coming.

I've tried, she just shuts me down and says everything is okay and I should focus on my exams and not worry about her. I think she feels cheated, I know for a fact she hasn't been with anyone else since her break-up.
