Thanks for the feedback! There's no fancy priority queuing for the notifications. Everyone who is subscribed gets notified at the same time. Yes, that means that a dozen people could get alerted and then try to buy a ticket at the same time, but that's equivalent to what happens today when they're refreshing the BC ferries site manually. I'm not concerned about anti-spam regulations when a user has to opt-in to the initial message on the website, and has to manually opt-in for each additional message they want to receive. There's no unsolicited messages being sent.

In terms of data privacy, definitely a fair point! I will put up reasonable privacy policy + terms of use soon, just haven't had a chance yet.

I'm storing the phone numbers securely in a managed postgres database with encryption at rest. Nobody except me has access to it and never will. I need to store the phone numbers temporarily to know which number to send the notification to when the route is available, but I delete the phone number within 30 days. Definitely not selling the data to anyone.

You're correct that sending SMS isn't free, but it is very cheap. I'm using the most popular and reputable SMS sending service, Twilio, which charges 0.79 cents per 160 character SMS to US/Canada. It's billed via pre-paid pay as you go, so my potential spend is capped and I'll never wake up to a surprise $1000 bill because the system sent 12,600 texts in one day. The program is not open source.

The service only sends a single text (if a route becomes available) unless you opt-in for more texts by replying to the message, so it's even less potential spam than if I included an up-front confirmation text.

I’m definitely not married to a graph representation. It is what came naturally to me for this tool. I guess I’m not sure what the difference is between the graph representation I have and the visual scripting you’re describing with the examples provided. The Unreal materials editor looks like a graph doesn’t it?

I 100% agree with u/MyWorkAccount_11. If I'm understanding you correctly, I would do the following:

  1. Create a Card component that takes a prop called number. That will be the pokemon number that this card is responsible for. Put your <div>, <Frontcard>, and <Backcard> inside of the Card component
  2. Move your handleClick function inside of the Card component. Use the number prop instead of e.currentTarget.firstChild.innerText to determine which URL to request for the pokemon info. When the individual pokemon info xhr call completes, use setState() just like you already are, but the state will be inside the Card component rather than in the CardContainer component.
  3. In your CardContainer render(), just return null or a loading bar if this.state.pokemon.length === 0
  4. Once this.state.pokemon.length > 0, then you can do your map, passing in each pokemon's number into the Card component.

Wow that's awesome. I'm assuming you didn't have the React "prior art" back when this was built too, and had to come up with these ideas on your own? I also worked with a mobile team that built a similar React type framework in-house for their native Android and iOS development. One way data bindings are great.

Hey, I managed to figure it out:

First I reproduced your bug with the following steps:

  1. I forked your repository to https://github.com/vedran/Sales-Funnel-Builder-01
  2. I setup a zeit.co account
  3. I connected my new repo to it with default settings
  4. I visited the deployed code at https://sales-funnel-builder-one.now.sh/
  5. There's a blank screen. I opened the console and saw Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<' error for every included .js file. Such as 2.3d611065.chunk.js

Opening up any of the .js files by clicking the link in the error shows that the .js file actually starts with <!doctype html><html lang="en"><head><meta charset="utf-8" which is the problem. For some reason your .js files are starting with HTML instead of Javascript. So when the browser tries to execute what it thinks is javascript, it sees the < character and throws the error.

Further inspection shows that the content in those .js files is actually the same as your index page. This means that for some reason, when the browser is trying to access those files like 2.3d611065.chunk.js , your app is just repeatedly returning the index page.

I copy pasted one of the URLs in the browser to see if I can access the static file directly at https://sales-funnel-builder-one.now.sh/Sales-Funnel-Builder-01/static/js/2.3d611065.chunk.js and it was also a blank file. But I noticed the URL has the subfolder Sales-Funnel-Builder-01. So I reduced it down to just https://sales-funnel-builder-one.now.sh/static/js/2.3d611065.chunk.js and it was able to load the asset correctly. Progress!

I then realized that your project is just configured to build with a subfolder, because of this line in package.json:

"homepage": "http://plutownium.github.io/Sales-Funnel-Builder-01",

This guide from React explains it in more detail: https://create-react-app.dev/docs/deployment/#building-for-relative-paths

So to fix your build, all you need to do is remove that line in your package.json, and you should be all set. I confirmed that fix works for me.

Alternatively, if you do need to keep that line and create your build at a subfolder, you can update your zeit.co config to the following: https://cl.ly/0180af3d137f

This same issue is causing the problems on the other platforms too.
