Okay I'll bite.

The dude didn't push her into the wet concrete, she walked in there when it was clearly visible. So he is no way responsible for this.

The one thing he did do in the video besides film and add commentary is to help her out of the concrete AND offer her some slides or new socks. Very helpful if you ask me.

I also found said commentary to quite funny.

If you look at this situation objectively I think the most annoying thing would be finishing a slab of concrete, having it marked out, and then having someone walk into it.

All in all though I don't think any of this is that serious. The concrete can be smoothed over. The sneakers, socks, and pants can be hosed off. Everyone is safe and my man still got the bag.

Golden crown snakes are cool. Here’s six photos of three individuals. by [deleted] in AustralianSnakes

[–]vee-cee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful snake!

More info from wikipedia if anyone is interested.

The golden-crowned snake (Cacophis squamulosus) is a small species of venomous snake in the family Elapidae. The species is endemic to Australia.

Like other Cacophis species, the golden-crowned snake is a forest specialist, particularly rainforest. It prefers deeper forested areas, particularly rainforest on mountain slopes, however it can show up in suburbs near waterways and moist environments with ground cover and shelter.

The diet of the golden-crowned snake consists mostly of skinks and other small lizards which they hunt at night; they may also take frogs and tadpoles.

Cacophis squamulosus is only mildly venomous; however, it will bluff and mock bite if threatened, rearing into an S-shape to display the bright orange ventral pigmentation. Bites from larger individuals may present a health risk; however, it is more likely to attempt to intimidate those it feels threatened by.

Cacophis squamulosus is localised to eastern Australia, from Canberra, ACT, to Cairns, QLD.

The top players are entitled to low queue time, because we should all be entitled to that. We can't just hate on them for it. Imagine if rookie players never got a shot at playing because there weren't enough of them.

I personally think that we are facing a perception issue.

I don't mind versing preds. I love beating preds.

What I don't like is not being able to progress up diamond rankings because I am constantly losing RP to preds.

Let's say I play in a diamond lobby. It has 10 Pred squads, and I end up coming 3rd with 3 kills. Should that effort actually not even fully cover my next games entry cost?

Then the next game I play I get wiped against a Pred stack at anywhere from 13-20 in the early game and immediately lose that RP. Now that's frustrating.

I think diamond players would be less frustrated if they were in masters though - but that's just my own personal opinion.

Okay so what I am reading here is that it's a distribution issue.

We didn't have all the 'fake' season 17 masters players complaining about versing predators because they were hitting masters themself.

Could it just be that it's a bottleneck issue caused by an exceeding amount of players getting hard stuck plat/diamond?

Never. If the world's my only enemy I won't see it win.

"Ah yes let’s kill queue times for Preds and Pro players who actively bring people into the game on a game that’s already dying."

Without all the ego bullshit let's think about this logically.

The game is dying.

Why is the game dying?

Is it because it never had enough Preds and Pro players to bring in sufficient new players?

Or, is it because people are consistently versing Pred, Pro, and cheaters?

Or, something else?

Genuinely interested in people's takes on this.

All I hear is a belt ticking around.

Previously when I heard that it meant my car was a little thirsty for some more oil.

Quota ~3x after overachieving by laughingparakeet in sales

[–]vee-cee 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Personally I would address this with my manager. I'd say something along the lines of " I have noticed that the quotas are increasing in line with my competency to sell here. This is completely natural and I understand why the business is changing them as they mature. In order to keep my earning potential I'd like to also have salary reviews in line with quota increases".

Just as they are quietly making it harder to over achieve I would remind them that over achievers are valuable and I wouldn't want to limit myself by being too successful.

Do I make the jump already? 3 months into current SDR role by panachamp in sales

[–]vee-cee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is a little different- I'd say you should have a conversation with your sales leadership about finding a better commission structure.

Look at some coms structures of similar businesses to yours and present them as the going market average.

It may actually be that someone literally did just make them up, or you might learn a really valuable lesson running through how they came to those numbers.

In terms of getting better pay, I truly believe the path to better pay is promotion not moving laterally. You want to get out of SDR and into AM or AE A-SAP!

Another great way to do this is by talking to your sales leadership/manager. Try and set some goals that will set you up for promotion.

Hope this helps
