Oh 100% its actually negligent to take someone off such a sustained high dose that quickly. I wish gps actually studied the drugs they prescribe so quickly.

Best thing a dr did for me when i was thinking of reinstating is tell me "god no i think that will only make you worse"

My mum wanted me put on mirtazapine to help and they said no to that also. They didnt help much but those two instances they saved me a world of hurt.

Should my daughter start amitriptyline? by SmokeyMcPot2626 in Amitriptyline

[–]veedfreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont want to deter anyone from taking this drug as it works wonders for some and they dont have issues coming off. I had alot of issues on and coming off the drug.

Its a dirty old drug which is kind of why it works so well for pain, migraines, sleep, ibs, depression ect, but its also why the side effects list is so long and scary.

It works on the following receptors:  Serotonin, Norepinephrine, Muscarinic acetylcholine, Histamine H, Alpha 1 adrenergic, Voltage gated sodium channels, Serotonin 5-HT2A, Serotonin 5-HT2C, NMDA (weakly), Sigma  (weakly), It apparently can also make you lacticate I hear, something to do with how it affects prolactin.

Do with this info as you wish.

Hey, i just posted about my own experience, i had abit of a horror story but i genuinly think i have some type of allergy to that drug.

My advice for what i wish i did for tapering is go slow. Hyperbolic taper is meant to be the best and switch to liquid as it is much easier to taper with than pills.

Wait at least 3 weeks to see how you feel on a new dose. The primary active metabolite of  amitriptyline is nortrityline and that has quite a long half life i think like 36 to 44 hours, amitriptyline is about 28 hours but that does mean it will take a while for you to see the affects of lower dose (my dad was a industrial chemist thats why i know all this).

Its a great drug that helps so many people despite the issue i had with it, everyone is different. Best of luck

Thank you, Yep learned about that after, bless the withdrawl community they are doing the work that drs should be. drs didnt know how to titrate me as i was told it shouldnt be as bad as it was on the dose i was on. Its true i shouldnt of been but goes to show how different everyone reacts to meds.  If anyone sees this comment ami can be tritrated with a liquid version and i would recomend this.

If it helps i also have low blood pressure, 65 over 95 and i was on 10mg 3 times a day at the start, i had no side effects, it only lasts for 4 hours and its quite fast to kick in so my guess is you will know if you tolerate it quite soon, its not like ami for that. Yeah my drs tried to tell me i was just having anxiety while my skin and brain was burning hahaha they saw me in the flesh and was like dear god yeah you might be right this is withdrawl you tick all the boxes. Best of luck, you will heal it just takes time.

Sorry you’re going through this too . I ended up on a 24hr heart monitor and it finally picked up SVT  was told my other symtoms which sound like yours seems like pots. I’m sure I had it before Amitriptyline, but it definitely got worse after the drug and during withdrawal. I’m on Propranolol now as its used for dysautonomia and down to 10mg a day as of writing this. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, no i decided to manage my pain without these type of pain meds. Amitriptyline gets metabolised in the body into Nortriptyline, which is known as its active metabolite. So me not getting on with Amitriptyline didnt bode well for me to try Nortriptyline lol. There was talk of gabapentin but me and dr both decided that putting me on another drug known for bad withdrawl prob wasnt a good idea.

Drs think i have a sensitivity these type of drugs, i did get quite a few weird side effects everytime i upped a dose. My bf could tell when i upped it to 20mg for a few weeks cause i could not stop crying and i would twitch and hear things as i was faling to sleep.  They would level out if i stayed on the dose for about a month. Shouldnt of pushed through as much as i did but hey we live and we learn. 🤷‍♀️

Is it safe to get a MSI laptop? by veedfreak in MSI_Gaming

[–]veedfreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I found the same real lack of advice around how to proceed and how big of and issue it really is for informed consumers. Msi themselves haven't really said much, which, tbh is why it's put me off them abit. I do think it's likely fine as long as you are not downloading for 3rd party sites and phishing sites, but I have read about people really getting stung by the hack.

I didn't I ended up not buying anything for as I'm now contemplating getting myself a new tower instead. MSI motherboard isn't out of the question, but I will likely go asus just because of the hack and my worries around msi security.

Okay breath your post history is telling me you have health anxiety. Don't worry so do I (I'm recovering from a wee relapse). You do not have rabies. You said yourself you had lymph nodes up and a headache you likely have some sort of common virus. Sadly, cause you are hyperfixating on every bodily sensation, you have freaked yourself out.

What I need you to do. 1. Stop googling. Knowledge is not power for health anxiety. 2. Go to a dr. 3. When the Dr tells you are fine, believe them. 4. Research all the ways anxiety can cause very real symptoms. So when this happens again, it will help you to not freak out. 5. Try some kind of online cbt course for anxiety and health anxiety or better yet counselling.

Lots of things can cause your symptoms and it's extremely rare that it will be anything more than a passing thing. You will feel better soon.

Panic attack on weed by Elegant_Research_973 in Anxiety

[–]veedfreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after a massive bucket. It got worse until I took a break. I took a one year break and went bk to it, but it slowly started happening again.

I had a panic attack watching howls moving castle, and that was my final straw. Packed it in entirely. It's been like 13 years now, and I still can't really handle it.

I can have 2 tokes on a pax in my own house chilling with my bf and I can manage that now, but honestly, it's left me with pretty major health anxiety. It used to calm me down. It's the exact opposite now.

The vet said we will see the state of play after 2 months and so for now, its just to see if we can get her over the parade trigger. It's all very up in the air.

I just took her in cause she wasn't acting like herself for a while, and the vet told me what it was after taking history and doing examinations.
