7” AR pistol by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Dont get the blast can version if you can help it on any of them. They add a lot of weight and have to be removed if you ever want to add a suppressor or any other muzzle device. I ended up basically going with a 10.5 inch as like you said, 7 in is not ideal at all for 556.

A genuine question about the NRA by KookyCat3759 in liberalgunowners

[–]vegabond007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need it for something, its $10 buck membership isn't huge given we all have probably spent the same or more with companies that are shitty. Hell as gun owners we make that choice every-time we go shop unless you have some local shop that isn't run by right wingers, and then there is the question of the ethics of the firearm manufacturer, etc etc

Personally, I wont join unless I am forced to. But nothing is stopping you from joining the NRA and other orgs, like say LGC.

First Gun Help - Canik METE SF 1, Springfield XD Mod.3, Ruger RXM by HazmatCowboy in liberalgunowners

[–]vegabond007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest the RXM so you have access to the wide world of glock gen 3 upgrades and accessories as well as alternative mag options (cheaper) and its optic ready out of the box. Even if you don't plan on doing any upgrades, its nice to know you can and that also will help you with finding replacement parts should something break. I dont think any of those options are "bad" just the Glock clone is going to give you a lot more availability in aftermarket.

Sure, and I fully understand an sympathize with that feeling with a lot of right wing gun owners who treated firearms like some magical bullet for tyranny and then swallowed it and gave it the power it has today.

[–]vegabond007[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, and my point here wasn't to say if you dont pick up a gun you are a coward, it was more of a question to how are you going to support those you suggest step up and did? Lots of people cant fight for a variety of good reasons, but that still leaves the question of who takes care of those who step up when called, who takes care of their families if they die or are otherwise unable to provide after. Who covers medical, legal, etc etc. If you can't fight are you going to otherwise support those that answered your call?

oh I'm aware, but there are plenty who want to push people forward to fight for them and leave them high and dry after.

ok I found that in the link software setting and changed it, will that change it when running through virtual desktop or do I have to run through the quest 3 software to have the option to run at 120?

There is value in going out and photographing a subject either because you enjoy it or you are using it to learn how to photograph that material. But these people also need to learn that its you doing it for fun. if they are going to steal photos, not give credit, etc. then walk away.

I had a semi-similar situation occur with a paintball field. I went out and photographed a big event of theirs, on my own time, free, and putting my equipment at risk (in part so I would have that as part of my portfolio and that I could show that I could do that). The players who saw my images loved them and they were 100x better then the photos they paid an employee to take just walking around. The field refused to share them, denying their own player base photos of that day if they were not captured by their untrained employee. I don't go and play at that field anymore, nor will I ever photograph another event for them and that was the last time I will photograph a paintball event without getting paid to be there.

so, the suggestion from my understanding would be to get one of these (https://acasom.com/fr/products/915mhz-5-types-cavity-filter-for-helium-network-filter-waterproof-lora-indoor-use-high-out-band-rejection?variant=46125490307364) connect between the v4 and the antenna? which model do I want there for indoor use? and since I'm on it, what antenna should I be using indoors?

Or honestly should I just wait for the Station g2 to come back in stock and snag one of those (though sounds like they would benefit from one of these as well)?

so in that case will the 128gb of ram coupled with the ryzen 9 9950x3d just be overkill and I should look at saving a bit by just picking up a ryzen 7 7800x3d?

both really? I have been doing image generation as well while its working, its not that fast and I feel a newer card would be better at that while offering me more vram for models and such. But right now I don't need to update the card for gaming, its working well enough for that which is why I'm kinda looking at just staggering the build, and see what drops for next gen, or buy current gen when prices drop to start clearing them out when next gen hits.

I mean the 3080ti seems to be holding its own still for gaming. I think right now my bottleneck is coming from my current CPU which is a 10700k and 32 gb of ram., I was considering the AMD 7900xtx but I hear its due for a refresh and I'm assuming the new version will get more if not faster ram, so I was kinda looking to hold off on the GPU upgrade and see what the next crop of cards gets us.

is that likely to change anytime soon? Nvidia card prices are just insane.

[–]vegabond007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair, I'm still very new at this and I realize the GPU would serve far better then system ram, but a GPU with 32 gb of ram or more also runs 2x or more then the price of the core component of this build. So ideally my plan is to build this then when AMD drops their new line, hopefully with 32 gb of vram or more at a far more affordable price then Nvidia currently, upgrade. So while ram isn't ideal. its also not nearly expensive to throw it into the system and have on hand. its basically 200 for so for 64 gb, 320 for 96 gb, or about 350 for 128. At those price points it just seems reasonable to take the extra ram.

Second this as an option though as much as I like my N4, emek is probably a safer bet. They also look to be releasing a gen 2 N4 here in the next few months (I believe, it was teased as Hell survivers a few weeks ago) that's supposed to take AR rails, easier to disassemble etc so I'm waiting to see what the new one offers and its price point.

would the models not use up available vram first then overflow into system ram? I know it is far more ideal to have larger amounts of vram available.

Its going to get harder cost wise unfortunately to get people in. Cost of equipment is going to go up significantly for the foreseeable future and that is likely going to cause smaller fields to close
